Premium Members Ramon Engle Posted March 12, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 12, 2004 Hey guys, there's a Data Tap on Ebay. This little gadet will allow you to use Proformers and Trimpacs on the front battery mount on a Pro Sled. It creates enough relief away from the bottom stage to allow the larger batteries to fit. The actual metering of the battery is a bit of a bonus. I suppose you could make a plate that does the same thing but these gadgets usually sell for around $80 used. You'd be hard pressed to find a male and female AB plate for less than $80. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...2&category=3319 Ramon Engle
Premium Members Erwin Landau Posted March 12, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 12, 2004 That is a full size A/B plate which would be about the foot print of a ProPac or Hytron 120... and not the compact plate... you are sure that it would clear the front position on the PRO 2 ? Premium Members Ramon Engle Posted March 13, 2004 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted March 13, 2004 I can email you a pic of the one that I use if you'd like. It's the same Data Tap except the one on Ebay is shinney and new! I think the compact plate is smaller in width not height. I think. Height is where the problem with fitting a large battery comes into play. Ramon
Premium Members Ramon Engle Posted March 13, 2004 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted March 13, 2004 Erwin One other thing. The battery capture on this plate is poor at best, at least on my Data Tap. It's a poorly engineered locking mechanism. I switched the plate with a more current version with the orange indicator on the latch. Minor rewiring was required. I would suggest keeping the internal resistor in line but you may be able to get away with out it. R
