Hey! I'm looking at investing in my first Steadicam Rig. I have seen this rig on the market for a fairly affordable price for my budget. I was wondering what people's thoughts on this rig are, and if it would be a good starter rig?

Hi Carson,

I think there are better options for a starter rig out there. Like you said, you are looking to invest in a Steadicam rig. Look into brands like Tiffen Steadicam, GPI Pro, Arri, Flowcine. Tiffen has lightweight rigs that could be solid option as well, flyer, Zephyr, Aero30. Their payload is limited but they are good places to start. If you believe you'll be flying heavier payloads than they can support, then look at used Tiffen, GPI Pro, Arri sleds. Check out the marketplace! Have you taken a workshop yet? If not, that's the best place to start. Or try meeting up with local Steadicam ops and see if you can learn from them.
