Premium Members Raphael Werner Posted May 18, 2025 Premium Members Report Posted May 18, 2025 Hello fellow operators! I started my Steadicam career in a time when Volts and Waves were already on the market, so I never really saw any Gyros in real life. However. For a new project, we‘ll have lots of hard mount and running shots, and I found a really affordable used Kenyon gyro online. Now my question to the experienced people out there: Do you occasionally still use Gyros? Do sound guys still accept them nowadays? Would you recommend having one? And if so - any images of how you rigged it to your sled? I searched the internet, didn‘t find a lot of pictures… Really looking forward to a discussion with you guys, thanks in advance for your help! Cheers from Switzerland! Raphi Quote
Premium Members Damien Tessandier Posted July 20, 2025 Premium Members Report Posted July 20, 2025 Hello! In Europe we don't use gyros, or on a very rare occasion. Nowadays even less... due to Wave and Volts. Don't bother buying some. Sound guys don't like it at all. Plus the volt makes the job, in my opinion. Quote
