PRO Camera Plate Compatibility with Original D-Box Top Stage

Hey everyone,

Quick question — does anyone know if the PRO camera plate made for the D-Box II Top Stage will fit or work properly with the original D-Box (pre-II) top stage?

Trying to figure out if they share the same dovetail dimensions and locking mechanism, or if the newer plate only fits the updated D-Box II version.

Appreciate any insight from those who’ve tried mixing the two or have specs on hand.

Yes, absolutely. PRO plates are all made to a single standard, and if anything the DB1 had more adjustment room for clamping dovetails than the DB2 has. Very curious to hear what you’re doing with a DB1. I’ve loved the two I’ve owned over the years, one on my first sled and one on a running rig I built, even though neither were as solid as they were when they were new!

Thanks for the info! I actually just bought my first rig, a second-hand CineLive sled with the original D-Box top stage. I was trying to sort out which plates would work, so it’s great to hear they’re all compatible. I’m glad to hear it’s a great top stage too. It feels rock solid and I’m excited to start flying it more and putting what I learned at the workshop into practice.
