Premium Members Oliver Kreutner Posted February 8 Premium Members Report Posted February 8 Hi, Is it absolutely necessary for the Volt system to have the original Volt docking bracket, or can I also use the old 1,75" docking bracket for the post? What are the advantages and disadvantages ? ...asking for a friend 😉 . Thanks ! Quote
Kevin Kisling Posted February 9 Report Posted February 9 No it's not absolutely necessary. There are some disadvantages to not using the dock, you run the risk of pinching the volt cables and the volt itself hitting against the dock. The advantages of using the volt dock is that it's approved by tiffen, it'll hold the volt properly and safely. but the volt dock itself isn't very good. I used the volt with the hill dock for awhile, but it got annoying to avoid pinching the cables. luckily, the volt dock fork is compatible with the hill dock, so I mounted the padded volt fork to the hill dock and had a section machined out to let the balancing pin slid through. For me, it's the best of both worlds. 1 Quote
