Lav Bodnaruk
Hey guys, i have two AB ProPac 14 Nickel Cadmium 14.4 V 60W Logic Series batteries. I am using the Logic Series Life Saver 8 hours quad charger and am unable to get ANYTHING from the batteries. Both of them, when placed on the charger pretend to charge, going from yellow equalise (after 8hrs) into green 'lifesaver' mode. What is peculiar is that both of them have suffered this same faith. With Volt meter i get no readings from the batteries. With Volt meter i get a reading from a charger, which therefore i think works ok. Is it possible both of them died at the same time? Is there a way for me to check this. Truth be told they are OLD batteries, from September 91 to be precise, so I wouldnt be surprised if they just died, but am wondering if they would both die at the same time... I have another 2 batteries, TrimPac, that use a different charger - Panasonic Lifesaver SuperCam charger. The batteries are 40w as apposed to 60w and are trim looking (slim I should say) with LCD. They are working great... Should I try the two above mentioned on the Panasonic charger? Somehow I fear doing this, as it may ruin my Panasonic charger leaving me with no charger for the two slim batteries... if you have any idea on what i should do, please let me know. Also, if you think I should try and re-cell the batteries, as apposed to buying new once? Try that option? Is there a place you can recommend - I am in Australia, QLD, Brisbane... Thanking you in advance!
Andrey Yazydzhi
Five years ago I have the same effect with my a/b logic series batteries - three of them died at 3 day's interval and I need to re-cell them. Now I use a 9Ah NiMH elements for my batteries and they work great.(GP batteries). Premium Members pauldudeck Posted September 14, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 14, 2006 Hi Lav, Well, I must say that you have gotten your moneys worth with those ProPac 14 batteries. 15 years!!!!!! I think that may be a record. You can try putting the ProPac 14's on the Supercam charger, it can't hurt. I would strongly suggest you retire the LSQ4 charger that you were using. We discontinued that unit in 1988. While it was a good charger for the times, the InterActive chargers are much smarter and will give your batteries a better charge. One thing though, there is no way I can guarantee you will get another 15 years from your batteries!!!!! This alone should attest to you remaining a long time Anton/Bauer customer. You can contact the Anton/Bauer office in Singapore. Martin Soh would be happy to help you, as he covers the Pac Rim also. You can email him at martinsoh@pacific.net.sg. Anton/Bauer will always be around and here for you. Cheers, Paul Dudeck
Lav Bodnaruk
Hi Paul, thank you very much for your post! I had no idea I was in the record reaching vancinities, as they never missed the beat till now. I am going to try them on the Supercam charger then, see what comes out of that... my hopess aren't high (which isn't a bad thing - as you said I got heaps out of them already) and will then definitely turn toward contacting Anton/Bauer in Singpore. Thank you for the great post! Cheers mate,
