Premium Members Charles King Posted April 8, 2008 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted April 8, 2008 (edited) OK got you...  Well, it's an EFP female part alright...Maybe just over used..;) Anyways, I've made a new female part so that should put things back on track. It would be nice to hear from Steve Francol. Edited April 8, 2008 by Charles King
Premium Members Rob Vuona SOC Posted April 8, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 8, 2008 Thanks Pascal. That is what I thought too. Â Charles- Â I doubt it was any different; that would have meant a new part and new "threads" for the operator. Â I do not remember any of that - especially the threads changing, so I suspect it was all the same. Â But we need a response from someone with an EFP in their hands for this. Â It looks like the mating of the two parts is okay as well. Â Jerry Ok so here's my EFP socket block, what it should look like right ? Premium Members Charles King Posted January 26, 2009 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted January 26, 2009 Someone asked me the other day if I had done any new updates to the vest. I thought I had posted the last lastest pic but apparently I did not. I had posted it on HBS but not here. I am still waiting for my machinist to finish off some parts and do some bending of the vest tail ends. Here is a pc of the parts I had machined. Included in the pic is a new complete frontal spar, female socket block and a new designed socket block vest bracket. So here it is: Â
Premium Members Charles King Posted February 13, 2009 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted February 13, 2009 This is the vest is now mounted. I apologies for the pics. The only thin that I used from the original EFP vest are the internal pads, waist/lower back padding and the emergency cord. I am still going to make a few adjustments on the shoulder pads to get them a little tighter but other then that, the vest is complete. Of course, some anodizing will be done. The new female socket block fits perfectly with the male block. So that's a relief: Â Â Â Â

Premium Members Charles King Posted February 14, 2009 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted February 14, 2009 (edited) Looks nice. When are you going to start mass producing those guys? ;-) ~Jess   Working on it. ;) Thanks for the comments. Glad you like it. I'm also working on mods for the the older GC sleds. A workable dynamic base for the V series. Just to repeat myself, these mods I'm doing are based on the Steadicam EFP. That's my inspiration for these parts. :) The idea is to use the parts as described in my early post to make the changes. I still have the rest of the rig, lke the parts I did not use. still think the EFP vest is a great product but strengthening the front spar has increased it's edge. Premium Members Charles King Posted February 18, 2009 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted February 18, 2009 Jess, I've changed the attachments. Attaching the leather straps directly to the breast brackets, like that of the EFP makes the vest sturdy and snuggly against the upper torso. Those extra holes and slits will be on the new machined plates. Â Â Â
Premium Members Jess Haas SOC Posted February 18, 2009 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 18, 2009 Looks like a nice improvement in rigidity. Since you got rid of the shoulder quick release do you now have to lift it over your head to take it off?

The change does make a diference.
Premium Members Charles King Posted February 25, 2009 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted February 25, 2009 (edited) Can someone please tell me the cost of the Rachets, please? I've e-mailed Tiffen but have not gotten any response. Thanks. Been trying to find a company in europe that sells parts to ski boots but I keep coming up short. So if anyone knows of a place in Europe, please let me know. Thank you kindly. Edited February 25, 2009 by Charles King
