Recommended Posts

...also, i have a pack of single, attractive women from the last movie i did, and since i have a fiance, should i bring the hard drinking, flirtatious lot of them for anyone else?

geoff

I think that's a grand idea, and as for that last suggestion of yours...

Please DO! Just don't tell my girlfriend ;)

Anth

PS - To all of you lady operators out there... take it easy! I'm just kidding...

Anthony,

Thanks for all that info on the Safety Classes!! It is nice that they at least pay something...

On a side note.. I wish this forum had a "union" section. :)

A quick update on the May BBQ for the Steadicam Guild LA to be held at Colin's Hudson's house.

The shoot he is going out of town for might push the week he is to go shoot to one week later. Right now it could go either way. If his shoot gets pushed, the BBQ will be held one week earlier:

Saturday, May 15th 4PM til ?

As soon as he knows, I'll be posting the definitive date... sorry for the potential change... but we all know how it is...

Keep checking back here...

Anthony

I don't know if this is something else folks would want to do but it may be a good time for another swap meet.

Oh yea, and I have a copy of "I Am Stamos" on DVD. The producers had copies to give to the cast and crew right after the screening. How cool is that? I know a lot of folks wanted to see the film at the hollywood screening but were unable to.

I could bring that if that's ok with Colin and if that's something everyone else would want to see. "Stamos" is only 17 minutes long.

Or we could just eat and talk.. B)

Although I haven't heard the definitive word from Colin, I think it's safe to say that this coming Saturday (May 15th) will be the day of the BBQ at Mr. Hudson's Casa.

Swap meet sounds good... anyone who cares to bring your old, tired, or simply unused item or items... feel free to bring it on down.

Any food and/or beverage items that people would like to contribute would be welcome.

If you think you will be attending, please email me when you have a moment (if you haven't already done so), and let me know if you'll be bringing anything in particular so I can coordinate the culinary elements. You can reach me through the email function of this forum.

Thanks!

Anthony

Well Crap. I be working sat. finishing up a feature that i've been doing.

As to the Swap meet, I have two things that I'd like to sell, one is a older Pag Micromaster charger and the other is a Pro-2 Super Post. If anyone is interested let me know.

Thanks

I've copied this message and sent it to everyone who is on the Steadicam Guild email list.

If you are a guild member and did not receive an email from the Guild but would like to in the future, please email the Steadicam Guild at admin@steadicamguild.net I'll make sure to put you on the list.

Thanks.

Directions will be sent out via email no later than Thursday evening ONLY to those people who RSVP to me via the forum's email function. Sorry, but I am not going to post Colin's home address on a public internet forum. There are far too many stalker type of women (and men) in the Steadicam community who might take advantage of that information ;)

Seriously though, I just don't think it's wise to post too much personal info on a public forum. Having said that, Colin's social security number is....

One more very important detail...

YOU MUST INCLUDE YOUR DIRECT EMAIL ADDRESS TO ME OR YOU MIGHT NOT BE GETTING A REPLY EMAIL WITH THE DIRECTIONS. This is simply because the forum's email function does not allow a person to email more than one person every 15 minutes. Presumably this is to cut down on SPAM mailings to forum members. Unfortunately this means that it is impossible for me to email all of those who contact me through the forum email via the forum. If you are on David Allen Grove's mailing list for the Steadicam Guild, then you will receive the info without having to RSVP, but to be safe, I would RSVP if you have 30 seconds of time.

So if you don't RSVP WITH YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS AND YOU'RE NOT ON THE STEADICAM GUILD'S EMAIL LIST, you'll have to try to get in touch with someone who you think did in order to find out where to go.

The BBQ will officially start at 4:00 PM and will continue until people want to go home, or Colin kicks everybody out.

Hi David,

Anthony is probably very busy responding to questions and e-mails about the BBQ meeting this month (sort of like what you do every other month David, thank you for all of that work!). Safety training is pretty basic and yet why does someone go up in a high lift and then try to balance on the railing to paint an out of reach spot anyway? Some of the two hour classes are really one hour, the instructors tend to emphasize points that you will be tested on and there is a reference book that you keep. It seems likely that you will have to wait for your passport and the stipend for attending for some time. It's a good idea to write the instructors name as well as the time and date of the class you attend as you will not get the stamp that shows you attended until you receive your passport. Classes are first come, first serve (you can preregister via internet though). I haven't signed up for a class that I couldn't get into because it was full yet and even if the class is full there are many no shows and you may still be able to slip in. Being close by you can just pop in and do a few at a time or spend two full days at it if you can schedule the classes just right, 7 classes at 15 hours. And I guess you never know who you'll bump in to. Good for you Anthony on finishing up, I still have two more to go.

David,

I did post an answer or perhaps more of a book really :) in the "Off Topic" section. I just didn't want to spin this thread away from the original topic.

So, about the BBQ, I have been receiving email RSVP's from many of you, and do not fear, I will be sending out a mass email later today to those that have RSVP'd and also to those on the Steadicam Guil'd email list.

See you all soon!

Anthony
