Premium Members MichaelStewart Posted May 24, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 24, 2004 Not sure if my vest is adjusted right, should it be resting on my hips to support most of the weight? With some on the shoulders?, any tips for adjustment, it seems that when it rests on my hips I get an upward lift everytime I walk that shows up on my shots. Thanks Mike
Premium Members Lawrence Karman Posted May 24, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 24, 2004 Michael, if it is DSD vest then yes it should mostly ride on your hips, with a slight amount of tension on the shoulder straps to stabilize the vest. At least this is what works for me. The front mounted vests I had before were more of an even distribution between hips and shoulders. Your Steadicam arm should take out the bounce in your walk. Perhaps you should loosen your grip on the gymbal or allow your gimbal arm to float up and down a bit more. This reminds me of a joke: An old woman walks into a drug store and asks the pharmacist (think Jewish accent) "My husband has terrible dandruff, what should I give him?" He says "Give him Head and Shoulders". She says 'So, how do you give shoulders?"
