Premium Members Rogerhaugen Posted May 16, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 16, 2007 Hi! I used the arri 435 for the first time last week. When balancing the the rig I had problems with to much weight on the right side. The video assist being on the right side of the camera was to heavy and also we had to put the arri focus controller on the same side because it crashed on the left side. So I ended up with tapeing the video transmitter and some other stuff on the left side just for more weight. Didn´t look very smooth but it worked. I have the baer-bel rig by the way. Are there any other suggestions? Roger
Premium Members Erwin Landau Posted May 16, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 16, 2007 Your easiest and fastest way to get better side to side balance is to get a camera plate that will accommodate you with side to side slots. The old school way find the CG of the camera with a focus rod or the like, mark it and screw it to the plate... so you are already balanced before you even put the Camera on the rig... and just fine tune it once it's on the sled. Below is an example by XCS. I'm sure that Markus can make you something like that with side slots... Erwin
