arri435 and master

Hi guys.

I had a problem with a 435 and my master elite. I used my 24v converter to power the 435 but when we tryed to run it the camera stopped immediatly. So i shot with a 24v battery (it was a very little shot) because we didn't have the time to check that. Of course we shot at 25fps so i thought i didn't have to use my lentequip converter (dual batterie) to power the camera even if there was the wireless focus and the video transmitter too. Am i wrong?

Hi Adrien,

If what you experienced is a normal stand bye mode(camera on, video tap working) on the sled and when you hit the RUN button it just shuts down in a second, try this:

The first "trick" to try when this happens is to quickly preset a very slow speed like 10 FPS using the P/S settings (switch down from normal). Then start the camera at 10fps and as soon as you have speed, switch it back to normal (25 fps), this should allow the camera to ramp to the correct speed without asking for a very high amp at start. When my batteries are not fresh, this saves the day.

Hope that helps.

Maybe your batteries are not new? I had the same experience with a relatively new set of Aspen 14.4 batteries.

After some investigation, they proved to be older than 2 years, making the internal resistance higher than normal and when you have a 435 starting, this high resistance makes a voltage drop that is too much for the camera to handle and it will switch off.
