Premium Members Charles Papert Posted October 31, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 31, 2007 Jeepers, that was manic! Hard to imagine there wasn't a little influence from this one a few years earlier... I liked the tea-lady though.

Premium Members Charles Papert Posted November 1, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 1, 2007 Drunk perhaps (you tell me!) but you did indeed see what you saw. I'd wondered about this ever since I first saw this video in the early days of MTV and only recently heard the actual story from one of the assistants who worked on this video. Apparently the British crew wasn't used to working with the driveable Chapman cranes so thanks to a mis-steer while backing it out the stage door, the camera was sheared right off the head. After they got over the shock, the director figured he might as well get a piece of film out of it and they staged the clip used in the video. Gotta love the early operating form demonstrated by the two chaps (not to mention Panaglide with wired follow focus).
