Achim Girnth
Hi there, have to decide whether to get a Flyer or an SK Sled for my SDX900, so I am looking for experiences on these Sleds. Seems like the 900 is very close to the payload limits of the Flyer, so I am wondering, if the SK would be a good choice??? What about the green CRT on the SK, need to get an 16:9 Image, is this possible, any suggestions? I appreciate your suggestions and comments. Premium Members JobScholtze Posted June 29, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 29, 2005 The sk sled is not your best choice to be honest. It has also a single bone arm and dynamic balance is almost impossible. The crt can be upgraded by any technician for 16:9 The sk is not a sled you can upgrade easily, and it has it's limits. Try to figure out what camera's you want to fly. And how much you are gonna use it. Then decide, but again, the sk is not the best choice in my humble opinion. I rather have the flyer instead. Are you in a hurry? Otherwise i stand by my post before. Wait until the v35 is out. It has al the options you need and the price is right too. Achim Girnth
Hi Job, you are a REALLY active use, and I appreciate very much your quick answers! Job, YES , I am in a hurry because I hve to get skilled and used to the sled I buy in the next 3 Months, that means, I have to jump into serious shooting mid of September ... So I would like to dive into the (hopefully not too cool) water within the next weeks. There are only a few choices under these conditions: 1. Starting with a V16 or V20 Sled for getting into it and upgrading later 2. Getting a Flyer, which is lighter in comparison to the V Sleds: less weight, LESS STABILITY ??!! I can NOT afford a Glidecam Gold system for the Project, but I need to have camera stabilisation and, as it is a Documentary, I will have to stay for hours in the system ... The V35 will not be available before IBC I think, and that will not leave me the Time to get enough operating skills ;-( the usual Problems: not time, no money BUT LOTS OF MOTIVATION Thank You Job, my best wishes Achim

It comes with the new G series arm, which will comfortably take the SDX900, in face because the sled is so light it should just be able to manage a 35mm camera! Chip Monk
Chip, I hope you didn't sell the Carmen Kass rig for an SK !!! Cheers mate !!!! Andrew <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Negative. Just another toy to play with. It was Vaughns SK before they sold it when they went under, and it was a rig I spent a lot of time with when I was first learning. (still learning) sniff, sniff Take Care, Chip

RickMcKinney
Does anyone know where I can find an operation manual for the Video SK model. The Tiffen site doesn't have this system listed anymore. Is the SK2 the model that took the place of the Video SK? If so, does anyone have a manual for that system? Thanks!
