I've had it for 11 years. :o You WILL have a problem with it, it WILL take 3 months to fix, actually take that back he doesn't fix Modulus 2000's any more. The parts used on it are no longer made. Problem is doing a TV series where the steadicam is used everyday multiple times a day for 36 weeks I can't "HOPE" that my transmitter is going to work, I need to know that it is and that IF it breaks it will be repaired in one day, not 8+ weeks because he has 40 other broken POS's on his bench ahead of mine Ah, come on now Eric, play nice. :) That WAS playing nice

Premium Members Christopher T. Paul- SOC Posted June 26, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 26, 2006 I have had my Modulus 3000 for 10+ years as well, and once I got the proper, (i.e. "cut") antennas for it I never had a problem with it- until my last feature in February and the AC fried it for me. It now makes it's temporary home in David Hables' "Cramped Attic" where I hear that it's repaired, but have not gotten it back yet... In the interim I bought a Canatrans, and perhaps it's my failure to fully understand how to finesse the proper operations of the unit- but I had fewer reception issues with the Modulus. To be fair I will do more research as to the proper settings of the Canatrans before I rule outright against it. Obviously people who have experience with both really favor the Canatrans. I am hoping to be a convert as well. For the experienced users of the Canatrans... the one variable that I see as it pertains to reception, (despite the obvious basics a ten+ year user of the Modulus would know anyway), is the ability to boost or lessen your signal power. If you are on the set and having reception issues, what else do you tweak other than this? (Again I'm not talking the basics of transmitter usage, as I'm fairly well-versed with this - but my question pertains to the specifics of the Canatrans, and yes I read the instructions!) Thanks! CP By the way I will be selling my Modulus 3000 as soon as it makes its way back home to me!
