In the picture you can see the rod mounted on the door side of the camera. The door doesn't open fully so I'm having the rod mount milled down to allow the door to open that much more. So this version will have a portion that is bare aluminum.In this configuration the door does open wide enough to reload with out compromise. The second version of this rod will have 3/8 threads on the inside of the rod so that you can mount another rod or noga arm or what ever as well as have the modified rod base to allow the door to open a little wider.
