Premium Members Charles Papert Posted October 2, 2008 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 2, 2008 Wa-a-a-ay back I posted a rough scan of the rare poster from "The Jerk" with Steve Martin wearing a Panaglide and holding a cream pie. I had only seen it once when I was in college and had never been able to find it again; I had actually come to believe that I had dreamed it up in an *ahem* induced daze. Then I finally found it on eBay and posted it here. Shortly thereafter I had the original properly scanned and never got around to doing anything with it. And then I had Steve sign the original, and that went in the closet too. Well, I recently came across the disc with the good scan in it (dated 2002, ugh) and realized it should see the light of day. So I have put it up on Shutterfly, where you guys and gals can order reproductions to your heart's content. I cleaned it up and created seven versions with different combinations of copy and autograph so you can pick whichever you like, and best suits the dimensions of the size you choose. The maximum size is a 20x30 poster which looks beautiful. Yes, I know this is a copyrighted image, but it's 30 years old and really obscure, it's not for sale anywhere as far as I can tell, and I'm not making anything off it. If someone from Universal orders me to take it down, I'll take it down and that will be that. Shutterfly requires you to sign up for a free account if you don't have one. And they ship internationally. Here's the link: http://thejerkposter.shutterfly.com/ The password is "panaglide".

Premium Members Charles Papert Posted November 30, 2010 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted November 30, 2010 Since we have so many new members in the last couple of years, thought I'd resuscitate this old thread in case anyone wanted to consider this for an Xmas present. I think those who went ahead and had posters made will attest that they came out great!
Premium Members Paul Gardner Posted December 1, 2010 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 1, 2010 Dang! Thanx for doing this work and sharing it with us, Chaz! Definitely great gift idea (for myself). I remember the poster, but only after having my memory jarred by this post.
Premium Members Charles Papert Posted December 1, 2010 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted December 1, 2010 yeah, theoretically this information is best sent to the friends and family of Steadicam operators rather than the operators themselves--do we have such a forum?!!
