Hi Guys:

I bought(and paid) in october(10/10/04) two sleds(without gimbals and topstages) of mk-v with the new mk-v/hummingbird monitors and I´m still waiting for them.I think the equipment of Howard and his modification in other rigs are great but it is really tired have to wait for your monitors.

I would prefer that he said me "I´m really busy with the new AR please look others monitors in the market" but the problem is to sale something that you are not ready to sale.

They have your money and you have Panasonic provisional monitors(it is a good monitor for finish a shotting day if you have a problem but it is not for shotting every day).

I would like to know the opinion of you guys and what will be the solution with this kind of problems.

best regards.

Just to be sure, Ramos: did you have frequent communication (email, phone) with them?

That´s not completely clear from your post.

If you had enough contact than this is OK to ask opinions here, otherwise it is wiser to solve it between MK-V and you discretely.

Hi Guys

As some of my customers already know we have had a large delay in the delivery of the MK-V/Hummingbird LCD's - for which we are very sorry and have done everything possible to help (as with Juan lending him 2 modified Panasonics until they are ready) this is due to a knock on effect caused by Hummingbirds perfection and supplier problems. - as these are Not standard hummingbirds in a new box, it has taken much longer than we both expected. They were scheduled to be shipped early Nov latest.

The new V2 MK-V/Hummingbirds are stunning and I am very please with it - I would love to say them, but I have one for NAB. The production run is being made as we speak and a very nice job too, and will be shipped in order of orders. The new V2 monitors have under gone major electronic and mechanical face lifts and are streets ahead of where they were (and the standard Hummingbird monitors) - they are total screened, built in heaters, user setable zoom, aspec ratios, different boarder levels, new framelines, centre cross off etc etc and no menu.

I would like to take this moment to thank everyone for their patience and the very long wait - but I hope when you get your monitor in the next few weeks it will all be worth it. - And also please accept our apologies from both Hummingbird and MK-V.

Not long now - please don't worry and sorry for the delay.

Hope to see some of you soon at NAB

All the best and fly safe

Howard J Smith MK-V

From october 2004 to may of 2005???? It is too much patience to ask.

The monitors will be great(I´m absolutely sure because I have seen them in MK-V office) but the problem is that they are still in the factory being made and my money is no longer in my account.

I can´t decide if I want to buy another (broadcast)ones, may be worst but already built up.

best regards.

PS:I spoke with howard many, many times but the situation now is incredible(6 months).

I have been trying to get a quote from mk-v for there pro upgrade and an alien revolution. Funny there is no response. Does anyone out there own anything from them, and if so how is there customer service. From what i can tell its not good. Its a shame because it looks like they make a nice product. Perhaps someone could tell me how to get a hold of Howard.

Thanks

Howard frequents these boards. I'm sure it won't be long before there's a reply from him.

I don't have any first hand experience of my own with the MK-V products, but from what I've heard from other ops that own them (and there are many), MK-V makes a very nice product.

As far as the customer service goes, I'd like to think that happy customers equals good customer service. I don't know what would be causing your delay. I do know that IBC is coming up in a couple weeks and I'm sure many people are a little more distracted than usual.

I'm still pretty green myself, but one important thing I did learn quickly was which companies make good products, and which make imitations of those products. MK-V is one of the good guys. Just be patient.

I Believe Howard is in China at the moment. So perhaps can't pick up his emails. As for customer support, don't start flaming the guy just cause he's missed your email. I'm sure he'll have a perfectly good reason why he hasn't responded.

I've never bought anything from mk-v yet but i'd say at hundreds of top operators would own something mk-v.

Where are you from rush ? Have you tried phoning, i know they have a receptionist working now who would pass on your request asap.

Incidently I live only 40 miles from their head office and plan to make a trip down after IBC.

cheers

Howard, is, in China.

And, he's had his Laptop stolen at the trade show...

Dave is very busy working, putting A-R's together for clients.

MK-V is moving next week to Web studios in Bolton, bigger premises.

And, MK-V will be appearing at IBC.

Look forward to meeting you..

Best Chris

I'm not flaming anybody ! I just said that I never got any answer to my emails, I didn't say that when you sell $35000+ rigs you should be all ears to potiental new customers...

Howard's rigs are top notch, and his engineering is probably second to none... I know that one day I will own an MK-V rig... After I finally get a quote ! :P

P.S.

I think it is interesting that this thread was started by someone with no name - I still do not know their name or where they are from??

All I ask, is if you are going to have a go about my service please let me know who I am talking too. And I will do everything in my power to help, this is what I do 24/7 365. Ask anyone.

As Chris mentioned we are moving to much bigger offices with a new training site for the AR. We are very busy, but Never too busy to talk to customers old and new. We have also had a few 'bugs' in the email system recently, so if you have not heard back from me, then very sorry - please re send or call me.

The prices for the PRO upgrade and the AR system are also up on the website.

It is very hard to know if I have had any emails from "Rush 164" as I have no idea who he/she is?

Fly safe and see you all soon

Howard

'Mr Magnum' - please email me off forum and I will do my best to help.
