Christopher,

Is this supposed to be a poll?

Looks like a mistake.

Anyway, of course they want you to look for a second hand, it will cost them less!

But I am not sure if this is a good solution and something they can enforce.

First, a used monitor has an unknown history, so it´s not sure how long it will last.

I think it´s only fair if they insist on this that they will pay for any repairs that can appear in say, the next 1 or 2 years of use (a garantee period).

I doubt it they will accept that risk.

Look also into the small print of your insurance. If there is something like a "day-value" than they can give you that money so that is less than you need for a new monitor.

But if they agreed on fully replacing damaged gear and the premium is calculated for that, than they should give you a new monitor!

My PRO I Monitor was destroyed on set, and the insurance company requested that I find a used PRO to replace it.

Thanks,

Christopher Ivins

Hi there

Dale here. I recently bought a steadicam package that came with a pro 1 monitor. I prefer to use a transvideo so my pro monitor is spare. I am looking to sell it. Any offers? My e-mail address is daler27@webmail.co.za I live in Cape Town South Africa but am coming state side in December.

Peace

I vote for hanging tuff and getting an xcs or proii When gear is destroyed the insurance is on the hook to replace it. Check your policy.. does it say replacement? maybe check with your lawyer... If a piece is no longer mfg. then they may need to replace it with the current model.... Of course theyd like you to do them a favor....
