  1. I'm sure it would be fine. I've had more beasty things on my G-50. Just loose the onboard if you need to. The viewfinder can always go too, run everything off 15mm and get an LMB. I'd say you were more limited by the sled... Rick.
  2. Hey man, sorry to hear that. Can't be a nice feeling... Tiffen did update the later G-50's with thicker internal arm post pins. They also sent out upgrade kits too. Just curious to know if you had this done? Hope you get it all sorted out quickly. Rick.
  3. Hi Robert, I am curious as to how your focus puller was managing to pull with the EX1? I had on a promo last week, and we had no way of remotely pulling focus due the fact there is no gearing on the lens, only the zoom, and iris. What was your solution? My focus puller with nothing to do!
  4. Try going into the BNC marked HD-SDI on the stage, then plug directly into the monitor from the HD-SDI output at the base. I'm pretty sure the 4 pin hirose (Vid/12v) does not support HD-SDI. Good luck. Rick. edit: I've presumed you are talking about the Ultra2
  5. http://www.steadicamforum.com/forums/index...amp;#entry35426 Seems like a good deal... I'd probably swap out the monitor arm tho, but that should fly anything you need. Good price, nice rig. The Baer-Bel stuff is nice and solid. I was playing with a setup very similar last week. You have product support in the UK too with Joe Mac, along with a host of accessories and extras... Rick.
  6. I'd rather like to keep the value in my multi thousand pound investment...
  7. Sorry Bryan, been working, then forgot... I took my arm apart for you.... The pictures you are showing will never work, as I don't believe they should. The new bushings do not allow for bearing instillation where you are trying to put them. It should be a neat fit with the inner post tube and the plastic bushings. Just put the new bearing under the arm cap between the base and the post. I don?t know if that makes sense.... No need for them anywhere else... I?m slightly confused as to your train of thought? Ed, Tiffen had an issue with a post in an early G-50 so they decided to upgrade it for a thicker one to prevent anything happening in the future. You should have this upgrade already, if not ring Tiffen Europe, and they will sort you out. It?s only the older arms that would have needed this upgrade. It?s nothing really to worry about if you don?t have, if you are using the arm with a Tiffen rig you would be fine... Robin, correct me if I?m wrong? Hope this helps. Rick.
  8. Bryan. If you are replacing the whole post (the steel pin) and not just the top cap then the following might help... If you have the post friction clamp on the arm... Remove the locking screw, and you will reveal a hole to the side of the clamp. Pop out the two little grub screws. Slide the post up and out?it should now be free... Remove the friction block, and the inner post tube thingy (it should all fall apart) You now have to knock out the old bearings so that you can replace them with the new bushings. If you use the old arm post cap, you will find it?s the exact right size to neatly tap the bearings out with?. Insert the new bushings. Put the new inner post tube thingy inside the friction clamp block. Slide in the steel pin, and basically re assemble. This is from memory, and it was a while since I did mine, so if I missed anything, then forgive me. It?s not that hard to guess the rest? Sorted. Rick.
  9. Hey. On the MK-V, 0B 4 way Lemo for 12v / Vid. rick.
  10. Dan, I had a promo with the Movietube last week for the first time, on the first day while setting up; I noticed some vibration in the image. I realised that it was coming from my Sony plate not fitting snugly, which is not unusual. I'd normally use my hard clamping, screw on alternative to the Sony plate, but the Movietube doesn't have the traditional 1/4", or 3/8? screw hole under the "V snap" area, so I couldn?t attach it. We cable tied it down and continued away with no further issues. I mentioned it to the rental company after wrap, and attached the Sony plate that came with the kit to demonstrate the issue. To my surprise, no vibration. The long and short of it... The Movietube can be very picky Sony plate wise, something about the back end catch being machined slightly closer than it should be. Try a different plate until you get one that fits better... Probably why you didn?t notice this problem last time.. Hope this helps, Rick
  11. I don't know if it?s a scam or not, but it definitely looks a bit shit... Probably not the best forum to direct your query tho? Try DVinfo, DVXuser or similar. Good luck! Rick.
  12. I feel such a newbie. BFD #991 Congrats Jim! Rick.
