  1. Hi, I am selling my back up Marell green screen monitor. The monitor is in good condition. It comes with it's pelican case and monitor hood. I am not sure what model this is. Price: US $250 + shipping. Please keep in mind depending on where you are located, shipping from South Africa is pretty expensive. The last quote I received from a shipping service was US $55 to send a similar parcel to the US. It ships via Air Mail and takes 10 working days. There is a option to send parcel via ship, which will off course take longer but will be cheaper. Anyway I will still have to confirm shipping costs. If you are interested, email me at rupertnel929@gmail.com , let me know where you are located then I can find out how much shipping will be. Thanks Rupert Nel Cape Town, South Africa.
  2. Hi Joshua, Did you ever sell this monitor? If not, what battery plate is on the back? Rupert
  3. Letting it go for US$120... This monitor goes for anything between US$250 and US$500 on ebay.
  4. Still available Great working monitor for indoor shoots or might be worth getting as a back up. Selling for $250, buyer pays shipping.
  5. Hi guys, I have this Marshall monitor with a V-lock battery mount available that I am not using. This monitor is NOT a daylight viewable monitor but works fine indoors. Normal cosmetic wear and tear, you will see a very small little scratch on the screen but does not effect the image at all. The monitor comes with it's own power supply, currently have a South African power plug that you will just have to change to whatever plugs you are using in your country, however you can power the monitor with a V-lock battery. It is a SD composite monitor and won't take any HD video feeds. For some reason if I connect the monitor to my rig, there is just a blue screen when turning it on, but when powering from a V-lock or from it's own power supply it works perfectly fine. I'm guessing my rig output voltage is not correct for the monitor. Open to reasonable offers, buyer pays shipping. Email me at : rupertnel929@gmail.com if you are interested or if you have any questions. I do have a PDF version of the manual available. Rupert Cape Town, South Africa
  6. Looking to buy a Marell Green Screen monitor with adjustable framelines to use as a back up monitor. If anyone out there still have one of these and are willing to sell, please do let me know. Thanks Rupert
  7. Hi Michael, Thanks you very much for taking the time to make this video, I really appreciated! Great to see the monitor does give various safe line options. Kind regards, Rupert Nel Cape Town, South Africa
  8. Thanks Nathan. Do you know if the monitor has adjustable framelines?
  9. Hi guys, Has anyone used the Lilliput model 663/S monitor? If so, what is your thoughts on the monitor? It seems like it might be useful to get as a back up and for indoor use, not so sure about using it outdoors. After looking at some vids/reviews online, I am still not sure whether this monitor allows the user to manually adjust the screen markers/framelines to the users specification. I have contacted the supplier in the UK, still waiting for reply. Regards, Rupert www.steadicamcapetown.co.za
  10. Hi Harris, Thanks for helping me out with this. Can I perhaps email you a picture of the connector? I can't seem to upload the image to this post. Kind regards Rupert
  11. Hi Everybody, I am trying to find the correct pinout information for my power/video monitor cable. I have a Marell green screen with 8pin Lemo connector and a 6 pin Hirose connector on my EFP rig. My rig is upgraded by MKV and the previous owner told me that the 6 Pin hirose connector on my rig has been re wired for a MKV cable. He couldn't provide me with the pin-out info for the 6 pin hirose connector, I emailed MKV but didn't receive a reply. Is there anyone that might know what the pin outs will be for the 6 pin hirose if the connector was re wired for a MKV cable? Any info will be much appreciate it. Kind regards Rupert Nel Cape Town, South Africa.
  12. Hi Guys, Thanks very much for the info and advise! This is much appreciated. Eric, I will definitely try to carry the batt belt myself. I feel confident that I will be able to pull it off, one has to start somewhere. I am looking to get the Marell 12-24v converter to supply 24v to certain cameras and accessories, but I will only be able to get this at a later stage. Haris, I can imagine that it must feel a bit akward carrying the belt for the first time, I will just have to get use to it as quickly as possible. Brooks, you definitely gave me a lot to think about, but that is a good thing! I need to think about all the different options, thanks for all the info. I think it would be best to stay with the 435, I know I can get a steadicam top for the 435 and I will also try to get the steadicam mags. I am still waiting on all the info from production, as soon as I get this I would be able to know if the Arri 3 would be an option. Alec, it sounds like your first film shoot was a heavy one!! But at the end of the day you made it work. I think I should be ok!hehe Thanks guys, your feedback is really important to me and it helps me out a lot. Have great day or evening further! 13. Hey Alfeo, I here what you are saying. It is not the correct way to do it and it is certainly not ideal. The shoot is for a film school here in Cape Town, and the students are doing their finals. They don't have budget to hire an experienced operator with a high budget rig, so that is why I would like to give it a go, as I need the experience. If I won't be able to do it, they will really struggle to find someone to help them out. I will sort out my power issues as soon as possible. I can see that this will limit me very much in terms of getting work. Thanks Alfeo. Rupert
  14. Hi guys, I received my rig a few weeks ago, and I got the opportunity to work on my first job as a steadicam operator just more than a week from now. It's not just my first steadicam job, but also first time shooting with the Arri 435. I know that you can take the eye piece and IVS off the body to get some weight off, as I know the camera is pretty heavy. I have a upgraded EFP rig with 3A arm. There will be an assistant carrying the 24v batt pack that will move with me as I will have to power the camera through the cable. My rig can only supply 12v. If there is anyone who has some advise for me or any info that I can use on the shoot, I will really appreciate it. Thanks very much. Rupert Nel, Cape Town, South Africa

    EFP Manual

Hi guys, Hope all is well. Would it be possible for one of you to send a copy of the EFP manual to me if you still got it? I would like to have some cables made up and I am not sure what type of connectors is used on the J box. Will really appreciate it. Thanks. Rupert Nel email: rupertnel929@gmail.com Cape Town, South Africa
  16. Hi guys, I recently received my EFP rig upgraded by MKV that I have imported from France. I would like to have some cables made up for my rig. Can anyone please help me out as to what type of connectors the blue 4pin and 6pin inputs are called and on the J box, what type of connector is used for the zoom, focus and iris? I would really appreciate any feedback regarding this matter. For now I am using BNC and XLR cable connectors. If there is a manual availble for the techinal info and you are willing to pass it on, it will be much appreciated. Thanks. Rupert Nel email: rupertnel929@gmail.com Cape Town, South Africa

  18. Hi Lee,

    Thanks for your post.

I have found a rig that is within in my budget and that i am happiest with at the moment.

If i do not come right, I will definitely let you know.

    Thanks

  19. Hey guys, Thanks for your reply and info regarding prices. I am looking through the marketplace everyday and I realize that steadicam gear is not cheap. I was still hoping that something will come up though. I managed to find an EFP rig upgraded by MK-V, with monitor,EFP upgraded vest,3AB batteries, PAG charger and a 3a arm within in my budget. Is this not worth going for? The rig still looks in good condition. If it is not worth going for I will save some more to be able to buy a decent rig. Any feedback will be much appreciated. Thanks Rupert Nel
  20. Hi Haris! Thanks for your reply! Sorry I am only replying to your post now. Haris, I am still looking around for a rig, but I will definitely contact you if I decide to go for a rig like yours. It looks like a great starting rig. Thanks for the welcome!! Have a great day! Rupert
  21. Hi all, I am looking for a well looked after steadicam rig. I basically need the complete setup to get going. I am at the beginning of my steadicam career and I need to buy my first rig. I am looking at a rig that will be able to fly a large range of cameras, because I don't want to be turning jobs down because of weight lift capacity, so it needs to be a good solid arm as well. I can't spend more than $16000. If there is anyone that wants to sell their spare rig or looking to upgrade and want to sell your current rig, please do let me know. It will be much appreciated. Thanks and hope to hear from you soon. Rupert Nel You can reply on this post or email me at: rupertnel929@gmail.com
