  6. Today I tape a interview with Sly Stallone for ABC Good Morning America. He was promoting his new movie. After The interview I ended up walking out of the studio with him. We started talking about Rocky and his (and Garrett's) run up the stairs and I wanted to share his take on it. "First time I looked at Garrett carrying that bucket of bolts I had my doubts. But he transformed my movie.....he transformed Movies"........ Regards Adam Keith

    G-Zoom

Eric Anderson (G-ZOOM) asked me to test and evaluate his Zoom/Focus System. First- I have worked with Eric in the past. Mostly at ABC-TV as Pedestal Camera Ops. Eric has also operated my Jibs on ABC College Football and Wide World of Sports. The G-Zoom System is a Gimbal mounted Zoom/Focus System. I tested and evaluated the G-Zoom on a Artemis EFP Pro with a SD Ikegami HL55 Betacam. I tested with several Stanton Right Angle motors and 3 Standard Stanton Jib motors I will give it a whirl on a HD Internal focusing Lens somtime next week. Please keep in mind that the focus half of the system Eric sent me is still in development. The system's zoom rocker and focus pot are hinged and fasten directly onto my gimbal. I asked Eric to reverse the side the focus pot was on, which he did with no problem. Both controls are very comfortable and easy to reach. The zoom speed adjustment is located just to the left of the zoom rocker and is easily adjusted. Zoom rocker was very smooth. The Focus pot was easily reached with my index finger. Some might prefer the focus pot on the other side. I did not like the fact that the cables came out the left side of the unit and crossed over the gimbal. I suggested to Eric to bring the cable out the other side. The electronics are in a small lightweight box. At this time there is no bracket to attach it to 15mm or 19mm rods. The unit forced all the motors tested to "chatter" at times. Also there was a slight ramping between the focus pot and motors. Eric is wiating for a upgraded board that he said would take care of both problem. Once he upgrades we will re-test I will add a post once I have the opportunity to test it on a HD internal focusing lens. Eric supplied Zoom/Focus Controller Electronics Artemis-GZoom Power Cable Stanton Motor extension cable Fuji Zoom Jumper Canon and Fuji HD Lens Cable Case Regards, Adam Keith
  11. Dan, I can help you out. I own a Zoe with the adapters. Give me a call 201 930-9855 - Office Adam Keith
  12. Check out the 16x9 inc. J-clamp. It attaches to most camera handles. I attached a PanaVise Telescoping Arm to the J-Clamp with a 1/4 20 and then to a LCD monitor. So far it has adjusted to every camera I have used. The monitor can work as a line feed or prompter. I found it best to work the monitor upside down so it can rest on the top of the lens.(No Vibration) So if your purchasing a LCD make sure it has a Video flip switch. Adam Keith
  13. I own and operate a Artemis EFP Pro. I work 80% Broadcast TV, live and tape. I am very happy with the sled. HD/SDI down Post to my Transvideo Monitor. Built in Talley System. 21. I took a workshop in Rockport Maine with Dan Kneece, Chuck and Travis Jackson and Peter Abraham, I think it was 1993. The Air Force sent a guy who attended the class with a EFP. All I remember about him is he wore sandles to class everyday and Peter wanted to crush his toes...... Adam Keith
  22. I was asked to post this info about the Sachtler Artemis Systems . The info comes from Len Donovan and Curt Schaller Regards, Adam Dear all, The way I designed the internal wiring of the Artemis rigs is focusing on; good and save battery handlind and also perfect control about capacity and max run time. Also flexible the use and the positioning of batteries for a perfect balance is a main part of the way the batteries are used and the way they way the rigs are wired. The artemis rigs in general following two directions: Cine HD, Cine and EFP Pro: This rigs working with separated power lines and 2 or 3 batteries. Because this rigs working with separated power lines, in 12V mode, minimum two batteries have to be used with this artemis rigs. There is one power line only for camera power, focus power and aux power, the so called "A-Bat" and the second power line is doing monitor power and video power, the so called "B-Bat". So in this set-up both batteries are separated anyway. There is a third battery, the so called "C-Bat" wich can back-up the "B-bat" or video power line. If the the "C-Bat" is activated the "B-Bat" will be switched off. Again the batteries are not meeting each other in any way. In 24V mode the so called "A" and "B" will come together, for 24V camera power supply. The "C-Bat" will do now the monitor power and video power. So again video and camera power supply is not connected at all. Beside separating the batteries, we are using Diodes to make sure that, batteries are not connected to each other, that they are not charging or discharging each other and that also the ground of older video assist in 24V mode will not be connected to the video ground of the monitor signal. EFP: The EFP is only working in 12 V and can be used with one or two batteries. Between the batteries there are Diodes used to protect the batteries from charging or discharging. So even in the EFP, the batteries are separated. EFP HD SE: The new EFP HD SE is using a new developed high capacity internal wiring and power management. The rig is designed for 15 Amps permanent power consumption with only 4% voltage drop, what is extrem low. The EFP HD SE is a 12V unit, which can be used with one or two batteries. A circuit board is taking care about "hot swap" and two batteries use. The board is designed and manufactured by Anton Bauer. The attached drawing showing the possibilities of mixing batteries using a EFP Pro HD SDI. So different batteries with different weights and run times can be placed to get max performance and a perfect balance. I hope this is answering your questions :-) Curt
  23. I emailed Paul Dudeck from Anton Bauer. Here is his reply: Hi Adam, Always keep your batteries on a charger unless you are going to go thru long periods, like more than 3-4 months without using them. Regards, Paul Paul Dudeck Director, Product Specialist Group The Americas
