  1. Let me know when and where and if the times work I'm there
  2. No not nearly enough. Try 20 amps for a 435 starting up. 12 amps for the arricams
  3. Rob, I have owned a Mod 1, Mod 2 a IIIa, a Pro and the New MK-V Gimbal.... Give it a rest your not going to find anyone that thinks that the IIIa gimbal is State of the art (It doesn't even use it's bearings correctly, check the play in it...) You might want to fly the MK-V or even XCS gimbal before you defend the old guard. A correctly designed gimbal doesn't require adjustment and infact does not allow for it. Sure great work was done with a IIIa gimbal, but better work is being done with the New gimbals.
  4. Fine it's not your cup of tea, doesn't mean that it's not done all the time, safely. The Safest single engine aircraft of all time just happens to be the Bell 206 series, The JetRanger helicopter.
  5. Hey Guys, If you were to ring up Howard at MK-V I know that he a Pro2 Centerpost/gimbal/monitor arm and superpost that he would probally sell for a great price.... (Please excuse the laser markings on the monitor arm....)
  6. I respectfully disagree with a bit of this, Bob. Do not spray in anything. The only way to successfully clean out a gimbal, at least a real Steadicam Gimbal, is to remove it from the centerpost and dissemble it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And I disagree with you. Besides just what is a "Real Steadicam Gimbal"? because if your talking a 3A then that gimbal sucks....
  7. Let me get this straight... A Plastic DV camera with a 2.6lbs Anton Bauer Battery weighs as much as my Panavision Lightweight???? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Man I needed that, that's damn funny
  8. The Issue with ACF-50 is that it turns into a wax to help prevent corrosion. In the past I used ONE drop of Arri High Speed Oil.
  9. If you mean the Monitor spud to dropdown arm then it's a 10-32
  10. Christ Michael Stop, Just Stop. For 15+ years (Longer then you have been in the Biz I surmise) AB Batts have been chargable on non AB chargers. It's not until the middle of last year when they lost the patent suit to PAG that they put a software hack in the batts to prevent them from being charged on a two pin charger. Really Mike it's getting tiresome and your starting to sound like Peter Abraham.......
  11. sorry but PAG is a quality product same for Frezzi. If this really truly is AB's new policy then I'm done with them.
  12. Just got a few new Hytron 50's. Did Anton Bauer do anything to these batteries? They will not charge on my PAG or Frezzi Chargers they "Fault" about 30 seconds into the charge cycle. The PAG charger has the newest all chemistry program in it and chargers my other Hyton 50's just fine. Did Anton Bauer make it where you can now only charge their batteries on their chargers?
  13. So as many of you know the distinguished actor Ossie Davis died on Friday morning. Well I'm doing the film that he was on. We were told friday morning while the carts were being loaded onto stakebeds to shoot a scene on a gold course. Peter Falk decided that he wanted to do his scene scheduled for the saturday on that friday since we could no longer shoot the scenes that we were scheduled to do. At this point your probally asking why is this in sleds and not journals, well let me get to that. We were supposed to shoot '74, had 40 400's availble, the take ran 280 feet.... Unfortunally It was very overcast and the scene takes place in what amounts to an alley so the DP made the call for '18. Small problem we had 9 loads of '18 in 400's but 26 1000's...... I'm working with a DP that is a "little" tough on operators and he was constantly happy on this one.
  14. Everyone is praising the obvious but there is one man that has done more for steadicam then anyone mentioned here. Lynn Nicholson If you don't know what he's done you will and if you do know what he's been doing then you will agree.
  15. Leigh, Honestly what are you trying to show here? A workshop would help but a workshop is not going to teach you framing and in that video there are framing issues. I have always told people that want to start Steadicam to first be the best convential operator that you can, THEN learn Steadicam. Steadicam is about framing, yes keeping the horizon level is a major goal but it's all in the framing
  16. First thing that any agent is going to ask is what is your experience and to see a reel.
  17. I musta missed it also. I don't think I can ever remember a glidecam being "Highly Anticipated"
  18. Crazy in my book, i nearly took the tapes to the police, and soon after i left the channel as crazy seemed to be their middle name. Matt. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Honestly what do you think that the police would do? When it comes to aviation releated issues they can't do anything, also Helicopters can land anywhere "Safe" so they didn't do anything wrong.
  19. An X is a gold with a fixed finder on the door. It's a HEAVY Beast. Power and run are the same as a Gold Conversion kit or Platinum conversion kit (The BIG 3 pin Lemo) It's not a fun camera to fly, Hope you have a a stout arm and your back is in good shape... Oh and just say NO to running with it. It makes a BL4 look light....
  20. Interesting that you go after others for advertising on the forum but you can do it all that you want....
  21. Why can't you post it? Really it's easy, why the secrecy? It would have been much eaiser to post the price list once then to reply multiple times saying "Please request the order form..." <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's no secret at all! I just like to interface with my clients. The US price is $3995.00. regards, E.S. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thank you
