  1. In my search for additional bits for this rig, I came across an entire spare set of Camera Power cables that I don't need so I'm including them with the price of the rig. No increase in price. Cable set includes: Two PRO to Arri 24volt/Alexa camera power cables (one straight connector. One right angle). Two PRO to Red camera power cables and an adapter cable for Red Epic. One PRO to Panavision XL power cable. One PRO to Panavision LW power cable. One PRO to Panavision Genesis power cable. One PRO to Preston MDR power cable as well. Two PRO to Moviecam power cables (rewire them to whatever you want). Over $1600 worth of cables now included in the sale price of the above rig.
  2. Because of some requests, I edited the listing to include what I have put into this gyro kit. Thanks. Any other questions, please feel free to email me at: graysonaustin@me.com Grayson Grant Austin, SOC
  3. For those who asked, I edited this post to include some other items and battery mount options. Also included what it would cost to buy new/put this rig together yourself. Grayson Grant Austin, SOC graysonaustin@me.com
  4. Awesome PRO Gyro Base with two KS-6 Gyros that has been fully rewired for HD and totally compatible with new PRO HD wiring and post connectors. KIt includes: PRO Gyro Base. Two KS-6 Gyros converted to PRO clamp connectors and wiring. Backpack with PRO inverter and cabling (setup for chocolate bar batts. No batts included), Daisy chain cables to power 2nd gyro from 1st gyro. On board small inverter. XCS 2 inch post clamp for alternate gyro placement. Neoprene Gyro covers. Additional long gyro power cable. power cable for block battery use. PRO post connector wrench. Case for everything. Extras. I had this already pristine gyro base completely rewired to be compatible with PRO's new HD wiring. It attaches to any new PRO rig and works right away to provide HD video. Gyros are perfect condition and work beautifully. I also had custom power wiring done in the base to supply power to a small onboard gyro inverter. I had plans to convert the backpack to use three IDX plates instead of the chocolate bars. The plates are included if you want to do the conversion. Otherwise, PRO chocolate bar batteries can usually be found on the forum but I just use a block battery anyway mostly. This kit can be purchased together with the XCS/PRO Hybrid rig I am also selling here for a discount. Email only to: graysonaustin@me.com I've put in more than $11,000 into this kit. Selling this perfect HD PRO Gyro Base full kit for $9000. Serious only and if interested in this kit plus the rig I am also selling, I can email the discounted price. Thanks. Grayson Grant Austin, SOC
  5. Fantastic XCS/PRO Hybrid Rig with the best components available. Almost everything on it is new/unused. The only items that were used are the upper and lower junction boxes but they have been completely redone inside to be fully HD compatible and wired just like the current PRO HD sleds. Comes with: New PRO Donkey Box 2 (New version). Two new PRO 9 inch camera dovetail plates. PRO Upper Junction Box (rewired for New PRO compatible HD-SDI). New PRO Preston receiver mount. New XCS 2 inch HD Centerpost. New XCS Ultimate Gimbal (with gimbal tool). New XCS Ergo Gimbal Handle (regular XCS handle also included). New Film-Stuff Telescoping Monitor Mount (12 inch rods with dual monitor mounts). PRO 2 Lower Junction Box (rewired for New PRO compatible HD-SDI). New PRO Battery Rack 3 (IDX Plates. Can be changed to Anton Bauer). Attachment Plate for PDL. Compatible with XCS hole spacing. Six IDX Powercube Batteries (used but all in good shape). IDX four bank Simultaneous All Chemistry Charger (used but in very good shape). PRO centerpost tool also included. Also includes a sled case which i forgot to list before but can be seen in the photo. Other extra bits will also be included as I come across them. Can be purchased with or without a Transvideo HD Superbright Cinemonitor (used but in fantastic shape). No Cables with this rig unless purchased with Cinemonitor which comes with 8 pin PRO power cable. The XCS centerpost is the most solid centerpost out there which is why I chose it for this special purpose rig. The XCS Ultimate Gimbal combined with the XCS Ergo handle is super smooth and comfortable to use. I originally started putting this rig together as a purpose built Gyro rig (see my other listing for an Amazing Gyro Kit which can be purchased together with this rig for a discount) but it just kept growing into a full use rig and now I find myself once again with too many rigs and can't keep them all. Please email only at: graysonaustin@me.com I may not have time to visit the forum much and respond to any messages left on the forum. Selling This Amazing, Fully HD Ready, Fully PRO/XCS Compatible Rig for $23,500 US without monitor. $27,000 US with Transvideo HD Superbright Cinemonitor. Again, nearly every item on this rig is absolutely brand new and unused. The rest has been rewired or is in great shape. If you prefer Anton Bauer mounts, they are available from PRO and I will discount the rig by the amount of those plates and the batteries and charger. $29,500 (at least) invested. Any of you who have bought gear from me know how pristine I keep my stuff and this gear is the best of the best. More photos available by email and serious only please. I don't have a lot of free time to respond to window shoppers. Thanks. Grayson Grant Austin, SOC graysonaustin@me.com
  6. Ed, Sent you a PM. Email me at the email address there. Thanks. Grayson Grant Austin, SOC
  7. I want the inner sleeve. Sent you a message though the forum but didn't hear back. Check your forum messages and email me back at the email address I left there please. Thanks. Grayson Grant Austin, SOC
  8. The HL9S is the same battery as the Powercube. Tiffen had exclusive rights for awhile but the IDX version is the same in performance and weight. If you want the same feel you had with the powercubes as far as weight but want to spend less, buy the IDX HL9s. If you want stackable batts, buy the HL9 which are a bit more expensive and weight a bit more than the HL9s. I have been replacing my Powecubes as they become weak with the HL9s batts and the feel of the rig is the same. $349 at B and H. Grayson Grant Austin, SOC

  12. Hi all, For those of you who had an original PRO gimbal and upgraded to the VZ sleeve, I want your original clamping sleeve and cap. If you don't know what I'm talking about then you probably don't have what I need so no response needed. For those that do know what I am talking about, please email me at the email address below. Thanks. Grayson Grant Austin, SOC graysonaustin@me.com
  13. Any photos of the 2 battery lightweight base out there? Grayson Grant Austin, SOC
  14. Well??? What was there to see? Anything really good? For those of us who were not able to be there, please tell all... Grayson Grant Austin, SOC
  15. Hey everyone. Need a bit of help. I am doing a Sony Pictures feature and have done others for them in the past. They are telling our UPM that they don't want to do a three day week on equipment rental now even though every other time they have. They want to pro rate my weekly rate because apparently all the other crew with gear (sound mixer, Key Grip, etc) have done this pro rate deal. I don't do that. I could use some help from others who have done a Sony job this year who have done a standard three day deal or similar with them so I have examples. I don't need advice or want a discussion here. I just need real jobs and people who are willing to say so so I can put it back in their face to help stop this practice. I can't do anything about the other knuckle headed crew members who gave in but I won't. Email me with your details. Thanks. Grayson Grant Austin, SOC graysonaustin@me.com
  16. SOLD. Thanks. Grayson Grant Austin, SOC
  17. Unused Blackmagic Hyperdeck Shuttle. Comes with unused Crucial C300 256 gig SSD and the cable you need to connect it to regular BNC. Super fast SSD. I have two of them for production and on board recording and this one is a back up that isn't needed so i am cleaning out space. Thanks. Selling all for $600. Email only below. Thanks. Grayson Grant Austin, SOC graysonaustin@me.com
  18. Basic saddle for Handsfree Segway. This saddle goes on the lean steer version of Segway (X2, etc). I have not used this one since I have the SteadiSeg complete version now. A less expensive way to start a Handsfree segway system. Selling for $1200. Email only to email address below. Thanks. Grayson Grant Austin, SOC graysonaustin@me.com
  19. Unused as New XCS Ultimate Sleeve for Tiffen centerposts (Ultra2, Ultra, Master, etc). If you ever dreamed of putting an XCS gimbal on your Master Series or other 1.58 size center post, you need this sleeve. Then just buy the main gimbal bearing assembly from XCS and you are good. I was going to use it as a back up on my Ultra2 but did not need to and now the main gimbal bearing is on a 2 inch center post for another rig of mine so I no longer need this. If you buy it from XCS, it will cost you $1200 (maybe more now). Buy it from me same as new for $1000. Email me only at the email below. Thanks. Grayson Grant Austin, SOC graysonaustin@me.com
  20. Like it says, Rarely seen. Unused, as new PRO vest. I use my Walter Klassen exclusively (serial number 011. I was one of the original crash test dummies). Bought the PRO vest as a backup and I am just not using it. Anyone who has ever bought gear from me knows how pristine I keep things and this vest hasn't ever been touched by human sweat (or any other bodily fluids...) Buy from PRO $5200. Buy from me $4800. email only please and serious only: graysonaustin@me.com Grayson Grant Austin, SOC
  21. Unless you are using Panavised Epics. They have their own little box that has BNCs for sync and timecode but the run/stop is a PanaLemo six pin hermaprodite connector. And it is not the same connector I have on any of my Panavision run cables for any of their other cameras. Found out after buying Epic run cables for my CVolution system and now can't use them on this job. Panavision is making up some Cmotion cables for me for this connector and some for the A camera Preston. They also cobbled together this God awful FrankenPana cage thing from old Panavision parts laying around the shop for it that brings the weight with Anamorphic lenses back up to way over a full Red One package and is very un user friendly. No good way to mount top rods and I can't remove the baseplate from the cage so I have to use an Arri dovetail with the full bottom rod carriage, etc. Suck... Grayson Grant Austin, SOC
  22. The whole thing telescopes in to almost flush with the cart. Just loosen the set screws on the speedrail crossovers that attach to the cart verticals and push the whole cage in. The bar running across at the bottom is always lower than the rig but just high enough for for shin bashing of anyone who ventures too close to the rig. I can also slide just that part back a bit for myself if I want to so I don't bash my own shins. The velvet rope is there to discourage grips and teamsters by making them feel too underdressed to enter "Club Steadicam". Works every time. Unfortunately, the actors keep getting in and running up a huge tab that they never pay... Grayson Grant Austin, SOC
  23. I liked Erwin's design but don't care so much for the current Backstage design. Still not enough rig protection and after an unexplained hit to my rig that no one seemed to know anything about a couple of years ago, I went about doing it myself. Built my own cage from Speedrail and added a few "extras" of my own. See photos. This is the standard TR-04 cart which serves my purposes well. I have the whole setup of American double riser stand and Backstage wheel conversion, etc for on set and all the bits are with me that I will ever need on set but having a cart that is a sort of "Base Station" is important to me. Maybe not so much for others. I don't always need or want my whole cart "On Set" since there are so many jokers hanging around who just love to treat your cart like a Starbucks lounge. I have had to chase away extras, grips, teamsters and producers from my cart who really needed to use my cart to check their laptop, sip their coffee, take an important call, put on their makeup (not kidding), chat about the Hot extra putting on her makeup, etc, etc...
  24. Hi, I bought the batteries with my rig in 2008 - They have not had heavy usage as I worked in other roles as well as operating. In that time the kit was only dry hired once, and that was last year for a couple of days. Thea reason for the price? To be honest, I know what they cost me and the price I'm asking in considerably less, but I didn't check current prices so I'm open to offers. Thanks, Chip Powercubes are the same as the HL9S direct from IDX (The "HL" stands for High Load). You can get them for less than $400 new from any IDX dealer (better if you are a good client). Tiffen had an exclusive deal initially but now you can get them direct from IDX, just not Tiffen Powercube branded but same specs and if you want to spend a little more you can get them with the IDX multi battery locking system to piggyback another battery onto them. Look at IDX site for specs. I have had Powercubes for several years now and I will be swithcing out to the IDX version as my batteries get too low for use. This is the price point you should be looking at. A little time to do your research goes a long way. Unless you like to spend more money on the same product... Grayson Grant Austin, SOC
  25. Not True. They will pay "full replacement value" if you push them. Never take actual cash value. "Actual Cash Value" means whatever the piece of gear is worth right now on the open market due to depreciation. If you accept that, it just makes it harder for the rest of us to get our deal memos done properly and you will not be able to get your gear properly replaced if something should happen to it. I had the Warner legal department change that phrase back to "Full Replacement Value". Grayson Grant Austin, SOC
