  1. V Mounts look cool, and should work fine, but if you bump them in just the right way, they'll fly off. Well, I better re phrase that. It happened to me on a live show on an Archer. Nothing wrong with the batteries, just the mounting system, Even on Sony cameras with the V mount I've had them come off when running after someone.
  2. Had a Model 3 first, sold it, then a Pro,sold it when in 2005 got a Klassen with the prototype Dual mount (Adjustable up and down socket, just like the mount on the side). Lost a bunch of weight in 2009 and had my Klassen re-fitted at the factory with me there. Gained like 15 lbs back (over 3 years) and got the small metal spacer for the hinge side, The vest still fits great. But after a couple of shows My left leg would get the tingleys every once in a while. I wanted to try an EXO, wrote to folks at Tiffen, weeks went by, then Frank at Tiffen sent an email and CC'd me to get me one to test out for a week since I was doing the Voice (Spanish Kids version), 5 weeks went by, couldn't continue to wait, Bought a PRO again, Got the right size Pads... All is good now.. The PRO will continue to be my Live show vest and the Klassen the heavyweight vest. Some of the Tiffen stuff is great, Like Rob's Phantom V is excellent!. but if they could have gotten me a vest to try within 3 months time I may have bought it...and the folks at two different networks might have bought them for their in house guys too....Opportunity...LOST. Try out different vests before deciding. The good part is that you can normally find one to try, the bad part is you really have to be in it for a long while to know if its really the right fit. Like a couple of days doing long shots and reaching that acid leak point in your muscles to know if it's gonna pinch somewhere or not. Proper vest fitting is key as well. Just my.03C worth

  4. Thanks Joe, I actually found the opposite to be true in my test, The Cineroid was no where near the sharpness in the screen to the Alphatron. Since I have no idea if I'll be operating handheld on a C300, or F3, etc.. after this job, I decided to rent the Alphatron, saving over half the new price by renting from a small local rental house., But of course my luck I'll be handheld with an F3 for the next few projects and then I'll buy one, But I would hope the next project I jump on will be at the beginning not at the end where I can order the camera with one so I dont have to rent it. Every year something nicer comes out, Lets hope all the monitor manufacturers have access to Super Bright, Super sharp HD/SDI screens for their EVF's in the coming year.
  5. I run quite a bit with the Cam-Jam monitor bracket and the Transvideo Cinemonitor HD6 Classic..Rock solid.

  7. WU!!, That was a long read.. I have one question.. If the Movi was mounted on the Arm, or on a Sled on an Arm, and the remote operator directs the joystick to pan, and the person carrying the contraption also pans, won't this mess up at least the speed of the pan? Maybe even the ending frame? same thing if the remote operator tilts the camera, and the operator tilts the sled mounted unit up, this would throw the end framing off correct? I have always thought it's a cool invention, but specifically to do some of the crazy shots the demo showed, like when the operator moves it into an opening and there is someone on the other side to continue the shot, or the holding it in one hand and your other hand holding onto a cab while it pulls you on roller skates, etc... it's all about moving the story not just the camera, By putting this on a sled your immediately taking away it's small compact factor, which is what made it cool, AND since making it capable of holding too large of a weight would severely limit it to crossfit fanatics who can hold a 20lb kettle ahead of them for 20 minutes while doing their WOD There are limitations Cameras got small, but lenses got bigger, Cell phones went from bricks to mini razors, now back to Big. Headphones went from big to mini, now those beats units are huge. Things are changing, all we can do it be educated on everything that's out there.
  8. Hopefully someone at Film Stuff messed up and just clicked the wrong button, You'd hope they'd send you the one you paid for 3 months ago before offering one to ANYONE, much less For sale to anyone who clicked a few clicks on their site. But it does say "Availability limited to stock on hand" Hopefully your Model 1 will arrive on your doorstep any day now.! I'm glad you mentioned something on here. I should be ready to buy a Model 1 for one of the sleds soon but I'll wait till you get yours.
  9. Glad to hear customer service is better over there. Looks like from what I've read on here the last 6 months, things have improved quite a bit over at Teradek. My situation was the exception . Looking forward to trying their product out again in the future.
  10. Hi folks. I know it's a bit off topic, but I'm gonna spin it so it stays on topic. Looking for an EVF ( Electronic ViewFinder) An EVF that accepts HD/SDI, or SD Bright Minimum 3.5" screen Can get the Eyecup removed to use as a regular monitor. I'll be using it on handheld jobs with the F3, F55, F5, C300, 500, etc... AND As an HD Program Monitor for the live jobs.. So far I've seen the SmallHD 4 and the Alphatron EVF-035 and the Cineroid.. the Alphatron seems to kick all the others butts.. Anyone else have a suggestion?
  11. Tracking says I'll receive it on the 5th, so I'll check it all out on the 6th at work, currently working with an F3, so I'll check it out on that.
  12. Hi folks, Figured I'd put a bunch of stuff on here for sale instead of individual ads... PRO GEN 3 HD Cinema HD Top and Bottom Electronics with Tally Option, Record out Lemo voltage is regulated 12V not 5V This will allow you to power your Atomos, Nano, Pix240, etc.. at the bottom of your sled. $4400 without the top Tally sensor, and bottom Tally LED cable $4600 with the Tally cables BOXX Cobalt system, ( SD, or component Video Tx and Rx) Included is... Boxx Transmitter ( 5Ghz and 2.8Ghz switchable) with AB mounts both sides. It can be powered from a Batt when sandwiched between the batt and camera? or you can power it via the 4 pin Hirose on the Tx via one of the power cables included which are: Hirose 4 pin to PRO- Vid/Pwr 4 pin Hirose 4 pin to Hirose 4 pin ( like on the rear of most Broadcast cameras) Hirose 4 pin to XLR4Male Hirose 4 pin to P Tap 3 palet style antennas The system also transmits audio although I never used this option. Comes with mini xlr 5 pin to standard XLR5Female ( for the audio out of some broadcast video cams also mini xlr 5 pin to standard headphone male jack Boxx receiver 5Ghz and 2.8Ghz switchable with 2 antennas AC Power supply 100V - 240V input 12 V output Power cable for AC power supply Breakout Multi Pin cable loom with component connectors, Audio left and right connectors and 4 pin XLR connector. ( I've never used the Multi Pin loom) The receiver can be powered via the AC power supply, or the Hirose 4 pin connector on the unit. you can use one of the above Hirose connectors to power the receiver and another or AB brick to power the Transmitter. I had Nebtek install a male side AB plate to one side of the receiver so you can attach it to the back of a monitor, etc.. but it is only there to mount it, not connected internally, I would guess you can install a receiver plate on the opposite side and have it wired like the transmitter so you could attach it behind a monitor and then add a Batt to it and power both, but that would be up to you. The receiver is powered thru it's 4 pin Hirose like the Tx unit. Price $950 shipped Priority via USPS to anywhere in the continental US. Outside of the US, Shipping is not included. Marshall 7" Monitor HD/SDI with Anton Bauer back I installed a Transvideo mounting bracket underneath so you can use it with the many monitor brackets out there that have spigots. Great shape, works great!. I only use this monitor indoors on studio live shows, so that's most of the life it's seen. It's not a Daylight bright model, but with a makeshift lens hood I've done well outside with it. Model #V-R70P-HDSDI with the Anton Bauer back and the Transvideo mounting bracket. $799 shipped in the continental US. XCS 2" CF Carbon Fibre Super Post with 8 pin Lemo SD PRO cable and PRO/GPI threaded ends. Comes in rigid canvas covered slip tube/case. $2400 includes shipping anywhere in the US. Pictured here with the Pro Lite lower stage and the Top stage and DB on it, None of those things are included. Only the Super post, cable, and shipping tube. No Docking Bracket, etc.. ZOE ZOOM Riser Works with ZOE eng zoom controls, the ENG-12 and ENG-8. When attaching it to my gimbal (XCS)I didn't want it to gouge the cover on the gimbal handle. I had one of these made to solve that problem. Used it for almost a year and then decided to have more made and have them anodized. Black Anodized Aluminum. Also helps stiffen the two threaded rods of the Zoe zoom controls. Makes for a nice snug fit. I use it on the XCS gimbal with the neoprene like sleeve. If your gimbal handle isn't as thick you may try wraping something around the area where this will rest. $55 shipped Silvera Tray This tray slides onto either a panasonic or Sony broadcast cameras' viewfinder dovetail after removing the finder. You can drill the base plate and screw down a Monitor, or velcro a transmitter/receiver to it ( terradek, canatrans, modulus, paralinx, etc..) lots of possibilities. $150 shipped. in the US Kino Flo Power Supply with 4- pin XLR connector. 19. I own a Cobalt, I am selling a cobalt system on here CHEAP!!!!!!!!!! in the Marketplace. I don't have a call for SD transmitting any longer, but many folks still do with Film cameras, or just have a SD sled and want to Transmit SD. Mine works very well. there is a slight delay in the Cobalt Unit, but for single camera work it's perfect. 5 and 2.8 Ghz
