  1. Robert, I had both, very good experiences as well as very poor ones. I guess it depends on there work load and the day you come in. Usually they are good if you make an appointment and show up with very concrete ideas and detailed sketches or even better drawings... and can leave the equipment for a couple of days. In some instances I had it made over night. And very nicely made at that. I had an instance where I had to keep coming back with a case over and over again and at one point had to build a 1:1 scale model from foam board... The guys are no engineers and have not really a gasp at what they are building, at least it seams that way sometimes. Sorry you had a bad experience. But you found an alternative that worked even better for you.
  2. And late again... So scratch the last post... exempt for the $50.- bucks...
  3. Hi Alec, It was news to me too. I had a couple of people contact me that they where not able to post pictures... I even had to sadly realize that some pix in older threads have disappeared. But it makes sense as it looks as if the space on the website is starting to get tight... Not a fan of the disappearing photos. I try to trim every pix that I post in Photoshop to a maximum physical size and minimum web size as well as "saving it for web" (low quality, but still easy viewable on the computer... makes shitty print outs). I guess that you can only post/view pix if you are in fact a sustaining member. Again I think that $50.- for a lifetime membership isn't that much really. And it helps Tim keep this website alive... a little price to pay, isn't it? But again I could be wrong.
  4. Alec beat me to the punch... But anyways. If you look at the up coming Anton Bauer Dionic HC (high Current) it's nominal is 85 Wh versus the Dionic 90 with is 90Wh... Here a couple of posts from the archives that might be helpful: http://www.steadicamforum.com/index.php?sh...c=9150&st=0 http://www.steadicamforum.com/index.php?showtopic=6237 http://www.steadicamforum.com/index.php?showtopic=4577 http://www.steadicamforum.com/index.php?showtopic=3989 http://www.steadicamforum.com/index.php?showtopic=3014
  5. Hi Nitin, You get the Power Cubes. But also can use the cheaper and less powerful Enduro.
  6. Hi Louis, This year was the first time I used the event planner from the NAB site... You go by name and tag the booth that you want to visit and it adds it to a list. Later you can see all the booths on a Map. Unfortunately it doesn't always "add" the booth to your list and the map, even though looking useful, can't be printed out in a "useful" manner... Oh well you live, you learn. BTW: I updated the list again above... and feel free to add your own stuff. Later, Erwin Oh about photos... I always try to make pictures, but somehow it always ends up with me talking to much and forgetting to actually take pictures... oh well.
  7. Oops... lost a couple in translation... so above the new version Mark II....
  8. That turned out awful... So, here a printer friendly PDF:

Later, Erwin PS: Don't forget the Steadicam Get Together on Tuesday, sponsored by Tiffen.
  10. I was visiting the NAB website... and there he was... a familiar face looking at me... (kind of and to the right): Louis Puli. An add for Lemo... I hope they are compensating you well for the joke e-mail you will receive now. Are you getting your connectors now faster... like only three months lead time instead of six? Second job Model... It's always good to have a second job to fall back on, especially in these times... Was good to see you. Later, Erwin PS: Jim Bartell also got a free add out of it... NICE...
  11. BTW: Rob you need more power... definitely more power...
  12. Oh.. btw: Parking is easy... you can just park it on top of an american car... (I took that picture June last year on the I-5 on the way to San Francisco...)
  13. So if you are going off about the Smart what are you going to say to the vehicle that I used to drive in Europe... It used to be in British racing green but you get the point...
  14. If you are going to get one for the Vehicle mount, make sure it's steel and not Titanium... I have only a Titanium one (For the Vest).
  15. I have an original DeRose. I'm shooting at the Palisades tomorrow... I'll have it with me. Give me a call. Erwin
  16. Hey Geoff, I have played with the Idea all since I saw it last year at NAB... and the other day I ran into the guys from Silicon Imaging... Anyhow... they are using a viewfinder build by P+S Technik in germany that is based on the Arri style viewfinder. They have an Electronic as well as an Optical version (so far only as B4 mount, but who knows): http://www.pstechnik.de/en/digitalfilm-si2k-viewing.php And we started talking about the possibility to attach one of there viewfinder to a Genesis or Sony F23/35... they are confident that they can make it work... and then you would get all the comfort of an Arri Eyepiece... More stuff to buy/carry... Oh well.
  17. Mike, No not really... Do not have any Documentation... I have the D-connector because it was used on the original PRO-1. The Seitz was a little before my time. I just felt the very back-end of the use as an assistant... and Preston since. Had a couple of BFD's when I started operating. But again Preston all the way since. BUT: I found an original owners manual and a technical manual online (Love the web). I should receive it mid next week... And then I can share...
  18. Charles, for older CP stuff and there value, there is only one person you should talk to and that would be: Derrick Whitehouse Owner Whitehouse Steadi Sales work fax: 1 (805) 499-7947 new work/cell: 1 (805) 523-8216 work: dw@whitehouseav.com home page: www.whitehouseav.com
  19. Firstly, Zefred please use your full first and last name as your login... I'm sure if you look around, you will realize that your one of the few that doesn't do so... Secondly: Wiring Data for the 9 pin D connector: Pin 1 - Camera Run, Brown 24 AWG Pin 2 - Camera Run, Blue 24 AWG Pin 3 - Gnd, Black 24 AWG Pin 4 - 12 vdc, Red 24 AWG Pin 5 - Channel 1 signal, Grey 24 AWG Pin 6 - Error, Orange 24 AWG Pin 7 - 12 vdc to amplifier, Red 24 AWG Pin 8 - Channel 2 signal, Yellow 24 AWG Pin 9 - Channel 3 signal, Violet 24 AWG I hope that helps.
  20. As the name says it... It's designed to mount Preston motors with the standard Preston mount onto a Panavision Lightweight. It will do you no good to get one unless you have and want to use Preston brackets... Look into the: - Hill Panabracket - Panavision Modular Motor Mount or Greg Bubb's - XCS plates
  21. I think you'll get into trouble trying to get through door ways...
  22. Paul...! Paul...! Paul...! Oh you meant by phone...
  23. Flashing display... I have a Dionic 90 that does strange things... It doesn't matter what charger (2701, 2702, TWQ, T2, etc) I try it will not charge, it doesn't even recognize the battery, but as a nice entertaining side note separate parts of the realtime display will flash in strange patterns... It looks like the Predator countdown to self destruction that can be seen when you defeat him... Any idea? Anyone... Bueller?... Bueller? Paul???
