Maybe Panavision wanted to remain the sole provider of their remaining film cameras, and not have to compete against their own equipment in the hands of individuals? They did give one to the International Cinematographers Guild which is proudly displayed in the lobby of their building. Carry-on no problem. I also bring along printed documentation from AB as to what wattage the batteries are just in case. Can't put them in the belly of the plane. I think Janice's suggestion about local sourcing is excellent too. And so is Janice.

Jens, what are you on payroll at Transvideo? Sure, just going to plunk down 7000 euro for a director's monitor. Something we will never recover. I don't know about you, but most of us are in this to actually make some money. Anyway, off topic. I might be interested in a smaller, cheaper receiver to compliment the 2000.

Small amount of latency not too bad for a hand held directors monitor. Certainly bad for operating.

I remember when we used to use regular, cheap small TV's with built in receivers as director's monitors in conjunction with Modulus/Canatrans/ or Titan transmitter. Why can't we have an HD transmitter that uses the digital broadcast spectrum so we can use off the shelf consumer TV's? It was illegal back then and we all used it just fine. Sell them for "export" only.

Shad, that is actually a HU2 because it has the led zoom bar graph.

Apparently Dragons breathe fire. I also never use traditional low mode anymore. Just flip the rig over. I also do not flip my monitor, just rock it up towards the post, so I never need to flip the image if it is not flipped in the camera. Have not used the new Alexa software yet that does allow one to flip the image for all to view.
