  1. Hi everyone My shoot was all interior night .The weight of the camera was like a SR2. As for power I used the on board battery to give it more weight at the back of the camera .The rental house had a converter to standard def and worked well . I would have to say the DP didn't change anything when we changed lens. We used super speeds with a anamorphic adaptor at the front of the lens which also worked with out any issues.I will try and post some stills . As for the still The shoot was set in a Chinese restaurant there were a number of challenging shots but in particular this shot . The shot starts on a dinner plate with a cooked pidgin on it . The dinner plate (is the waiters pov) travels from the kitchen down a short hallway down a few steps then turn left into the large restaurant ,around the restaurant to the customer table . (not unlike the opening shot from Mike Myers film “So I married an axe Murderer”.) Making the mount for the plate to sit on the steadicam was quite a challenge but also being able to balance the steadicam with a 2.07 kg Plate and pidgin 2 ft in front of the lens was something else. The length of the camera and the bracket was about 3 1/2 ft long which was interesting to work with . It was great fun ,the bracket worked like a charm . All the best Louis Puli

  14. Hi everyone It sounds great that GPI are working on a HD upgrade .I would like to see them supply the market with DIY upgrade kit with all the parts, plugs and cables and instructions etc so as you don't have to send your rig back to them ( in my case 12,000 Miles and say 2 weeks down time freight costs etc) The ikea upgrade its all in the box . The only down side is that I always have a few screws left over after make that bookshelf . I hope PRO will consider my idea. Fly safe Louis Puli
  15. Hi everyone I was looking at the making of and came across this gem . I don't quite know why he used a skate board but it looks cool . You should find it here (46 sec in ) http://link.brightcove.com/services/link/b...bctid1913280881 or http://content.foxsearchlight.com/videos/node/2980" Inside Slumdog:Boyle on India . If you have not seen the film yet take the time you will not be disappointed . Fly safe Louis trying to keep cool in this 40deg summer Puli from down under B)
  16. Your mistaken. They aren't looking for a Steadicam operator they are looking for a Steadycam operator. I think that's one of those crazy contraptions made out of bungycords and used bike parts that you strap to your head. $175 is a great rate for that as normally you have to pay people to let you walk around set and look cool with it. ~Jess Hi Everyone Ha Jess I would give them this guys No #333##3333 lol Thats all they deserve Backstabbers and undercutters Fly safe Louis Puli B)
  17. Hi Bryan I would ask the rental House for the fixed viewfinder which is smaller then the Hand held viewfinder (Huge one) Yes steadicam Mags Jerry Hill Arri 3 LMB or cage as well. You may need a Y (Cam and Aux )power cable if you are doing any high speed or you could use a battery belt instead. As for the video split well it would depend on which type the rental house have digital or B&W .You could use a Precision camera video relay lens which fits on the viewfinder of the camera less weight again . Good luck Louis Puli from down under B)
  18. Hi everyone I was at Panavision today doing prep with the Genisis (and the recorder onboard No ssr available HATE that) camera which I will be using soon on a job.Let me also say this is the first time using this camera ok. My Rig is a Pro 1 with a new base , a preston 2 motors ,Modulas ,and Dionic 90 batteries all New. When I powered up the camera (which was all fine) I looked down at the batteries and saw that the "Real time Display " on the 2 batteries (Camera /Aug ) were FLASHING on /off . All of the batteries are only a few months old and I have been on many other jobs with them with out any problem. Can any one tell me if they have had a similar issue with these batterys. Thanks Louis Puli from down under . B)

  24. Hi everyone I was looking at Ben Semanoff Gallery today and came across this gem of a shot . I wonder if Larry will be selling these in Black . lol   Ben said "Since larry is of average height (like myself) he wanted to be able to operate hand held at eye level with the basketball players. So he designed these boots." This could be a segway to a new topic " How far have you gone to get The Shot " Larry you are amazing. All the best Louis Puli from down under l
