  1. Thats pretty disgusting. I've never heard of this, but I can't believe this would catch on. Why would you make a commercial out of pocket for a corporate, with the ultimate payday (if you make it) being 7,500$ ? Seems crazy ... I hope it doesn't catch on.
  2. Matteo, Thank you. I have been in touch with Stefano, but I finally got one sent over from ARRI Rental Munich. Are you in Rome ? I am here for one week longer. We are shooting at the backlot at Cinecitta.
  3. Phenomenal work Job ! Across the board. Very well pulled off by all departments involved. I love the focus discussion on youtube ... completely missing the point.
  4. Thanks Matteo, I will be filmingfor a short film, being directed by Wes Anderson, in the Cinecitta (spelling ?) studios in Rome for a week and then I have 1 week in Verona and 8 days in Venice. I need the Rickshaw mainly for the shoot in Venice. Unfortunately I need to hard mount the arm, so the wheelchair is not ideal, but thank you for the offer. I have spoken to Hans Helner from Hamburg, who makes the Rickshaw Dolly. he has one that he can ship to me. This is obviously the most expensive solution, and one that I will use only if all other avenues fail. There is a Venice based operator called Stefano Ben, who may have one. He has not responded to email or a PM here on this forum, so I figure he is either not interested or is on holiday somewhere where he has no internet. Either way, I would be happy if you have any leads for me. Thank you Sanjay Sami
  5. And I am happy to hear that Amando ! I will have a drink on you tonight
  6. I need to hire a rickshaw in Italy for 2 weeks, any leads ? Rome, Milan and Venice. Thank you
  7. Thomas, would be great to see you there ... now I hope I can make it ! Fingers crossed, weekend coincides.
  8. Hey Chris, They dont fit me. I have VERY broad hands and feet. I need XXL gloves to fit my hands. I have not found any of them that fit me. Perhaps custom made :-) I will give the other one you recommend a try . Look forward to seeing you at Cinec. I am hoping I get a proper weekend off at that time. Really looking forward to trying the Exovest.
  9. Those are the ones I use ... love them ! Have 3 identical pairs at any given time.
  10. I will be filming in Budapest. I am hoping to get a weekend to get down to Munich. I missed it last year, but have been there pretty regularly. It does coincide with the Oktoberfest (Which starts in September !!??) I know Markus Kuballa (Berlin based) will be there, and maybe Benjamin Treplin (also Berlin based)
  11. Great job. Are you in South Africa ? Who was the Key Grip ? Great transition onto the crane.
  12. Thats the one : http://griptrix.com/TrackerAT2.htm
  13. Talk to Herb at Griptrix. He has a smaller car. If thats not available he will figure something else out.
  14. Hi Tim, By the sounds of it, you are off to a great start ! Get a big rig ... you might as well buy once, since it seems apparent that you are here to stay. Good luck Sanjay Sami BTW - I'd love to know what the shot Ron directed was ...
  15. I have dealt with them just once, but had a very good experience. I bought the Titan HD transmitter and receiver from them. I had prompt service and a helpful ear at the other end of the line. Not sure if that helps, but that was my limited experience.
  16. Are there any operators from Budapest, Hungary on the forum ? I will be there for a month and a half and wanted to touch base and find out the availability of Rickshaws, and other gear locally. Thanks Sanjay
  17. Ha ha ha Ron ... I'm going to post the picture I took of you pissing on the Batmobile !!
  18. I'm going to be at Cinec Chris ... thats great news ! Markus --- a few beers ... and I mean a few. Not like Berlin ;-)
  19. Thats never going to be an issue. I have cases that violate those dimensions everytime I fly, anywhere in the world, and if its within a couple of inches, there has never been an issue.
  20. The gear is important, but not as important as who it is strapped to ...
  21. Thats great news Peter ! Congratulations :D
  22. You mean camera union or a machinists union ? I think it would be unusual for camera crew to be working in the manufacturing world ... I suppose Chris is an exception, but thats possibly because he is the developer of the monitor. I cant imagine he employs local 600 members to manufacture the monitor.
  23. I did a movie in Istanbul and met him there. He is good friends with Adnan "Ado" Aydin , who is a great friend of mine. Your phone number in your signature is an Istanbul number, so I figured you were probably mentored by him, as most of the Steadi Ops I meet from Turkey are :)
