  1. Selling my almost brand new Blackmagic MiniConverter SDI to Analog 4K. The unit is in perfect working condition with the only damage being purely cosmetic (a scratch or two with some light damage to one of the dip switches; does not affect any functionality). My reason for selling is that I need some extra cash and this is my backup downconverter. I am also including a P-Tap cable with a built-in 12volt DC regulator (built by Terry West, so you know it's quality). The regulator is a must; the converter only runs below 15v so unless you deplete your charge to under 15v you won't be able to power the unit from your sled.

Brand new, the unit is $280 and the cable was around $200. Looking to get $420 for it, OBO.

Buyer pays shipping, or we can arrange a pickup (located in Van Nuys in LA). Email: aaron.gantt@gmail.com Cell: 704.322.6889

  3. Ahoyhoy,

Looking to sell my Easyrig 3 Cinema with a 700N Shock Absorber. The 700N can hold camera weights up to 40 lbs (according to the manual). The largest set up I've put on this rig was a Panavision GII with a 1000' mag on the back. The rig performed perfectly well.

Overall, this Easyrig is in excellent condition. Almost brand new condition. Probably been used 6-7 times total.

Comes with the original carrying case, aks pouch, safety strap, manual booklet and a DVD manual.

The rig originally sold for $3,500.00. I'm looking to get $2,800.00 OBO (plus S&H). I'm located out of North Carolina so East Coasters, I'm willing to work out a hand-off to save money on shipping.

  4. Hello everyone. Looking to sell my Steadicam Zephyr. I've had it for just about a year now and it has served me very well. I finished upgrading my gear about two months ago so I'm ready to say goodbye to this one...

    12v/HD Sled
    Zephyr Arm (w/ bag)
    Compact Zephyr Vest
    HD Monitor (w/ plexiglass shield)
    Docking bracket
    Batteries (2x Gold Mount Switronix)
    Dual Charger
    Sled Power Cables
    BNC Cable
    F-Bracket (for low-mode)
    Low-Mode Bracket
Merlin weights (for additional weight when working with lighter cameras)
    Original DVD and Manual
Zephyr Sled to XLR 4-pin cable
Carrying case for the whole deal (and it has wheels for your back!)

Everything is in damn good condition. Very few and very minor scratches, purely cosmetic. Had the gimbal serviced about 9 months ago by Tiffen; works perfectly. The Switronix batteries surprised me with how long they last.

I'm looking to get $7,500.00 (+shipping) OBO. I'm located in Winston-Salem, NC and am willing to work out a hand-off for East-Coast residence if you want to save a little cash on shipping. Please feel free to PM me or email me (aaron.gantt@gmail.com) if you have any further questions.

  5. Also, upon further inspection, I've noticed the gimbal itself has the slightest bit of play in it. I can rock the pan section of the gimbal side-to-side on the post. (Does that make sense?) Basically, the two rotating sections of the gimbal that allow the rig to pan seem to be slightly out of synch with each other. Hopefully this will give someone a better idea as to what's wrong with my new toy.

  6. Thanks for the replies, gentlemen.

@Alan: I believe I have the same gimbal as pictured. I had the same issue with my gimbal slipping when I had a heavier camera on it. I just took an allen key to it and it hasn't given me a problem since.

But yes, Victor's right, my problem is with the bearings, not the actual gimbal slipping on the post.

Since my original post, I removed the top cap of the gimbal and took a blow dryer to it. The noise went away and it seemed to be doing better. However, today on set the original problem remained. I've read where others have described my same problem as "hunting" (correct me if that's not proper lingo). When I let the rig settle, the gimbal will constantly rock side-to-side forcing me to grip the gimbal much harder than I should have to. From what I've read, it appears as though I have a problem with the bearings in the gimbal. Luckily all the moves today were fairly fast so my overcorrection wasn't noticeable.

So now my question is (assuming I'm right in my diagnosis), can I fix this problem in a hotel room or does my gimbal require a trip back to Tiffen? And if it's repairs I need, who would be best to talk to?

  7. Greetings everyone!

Long-time lurker, first-time poster. Love the forum; an incredible resource and I must say I've learned a lot just browsing and reading.

Just purchased a Zephyr a few months ago (couldn't be happier with it) and two days ago I found myself outside in the cold rain for four hours. Once I wrapped, I dried everything off for a day and everything seemed to be fine. Just broke the rig back out for a shoot tomorrow morning and my gimbal is sticking. I can hear an unfamiliar whirl in my gimbal when I spin the post and whatever the problem is, it's causing the rig to drag to the side once I'm in motion. Not to mention slow kiss offs are nearly impossible.

Any tricks to solving this problem? I searched around and found people with similar issues, but I couldn't find anything on the Zephyr gimbal specifically. Is this something I can fix myself (I've never taken apart a gimbal)?

    Thanks,

    ~Aaron
