I say you hand carry it to Magnus and have a great vacation!

    The best advice EVER!

I will look in my equipment for something made around Galapagos islands or the big barrier reef :P

  3. Transvideo SuperBright prices:

I do not know where the price difference of 5 to 6K between a Transvideo HD and another HD comes from but it is not accurate. Unless some HD monitors are now given away at $0.

If we talk about Standard Def SuperBright, the Transvideo 6" Cine3ASB is in the $3000.

If we talk about the HD+SD SuperBright the price range is $6K INCLUDING WAVEFORM YRGB, VECTORSCOPE, HISTOGRAM, EXPOSURE CONTROL, COLOR FRAMELINES AND MATTING. All these features work in both HD and SD def.

Anyone has a monitor that can do that for less than 10K??? So at this price, the Transvideo HD SuperBright is the lowest price in its category.

AND you can add the digital Horizon that works both in SD def and in HD for approx. $800.

If anyone prefers buying 2 monitors of lesser quality for more money than a single higher end-one.... I do not get the logic.

    Marianne - transvideo International.

    Marianne,

No doubt your monitor is great (never seeing it ,but heard lot of good thinks),but everyone can make his own choice witch monitor to use.

Almost non of us need any of the options like : WAVEFORM YRGB, VECTORSCOPE, HISTOGRAM, EXPOSURE CONTROL.

My point is that in a world financial crisis difference between 4k+ and 6k+ can be killer for each one of us .

So please don't be so passionate and let the people choose!

    Best Regards from Sofia!

  4. Was yours getting noisy like mine or did it have other problems? Mine is actually still under warranty so Magnus at Heden said he would take care of it for me same day the only problem is the shipping to Sweden.

    ~Jess

If it still under warranty just send it.

It is not only the noise,it will start shaking and some big "black holes " in some positions.

The two I have repaired are not mine, but one of mine is going there(I have 32's)

    Best!

  5. Jess,

I have service this kind of motor twice ,both times the problem was the potentiometer (I've done on "p" model ,but vp is with pot.too).

It's a tricky business, but not so hard to do .You will need very small Allan key I believe was .9 0r .75 mm ,than a 9mm long key(latherman will work too)

Unfortunately the pot. is a bit expensive(will be more than 250usd in US) and hard to find. Here is the model: Vishay Spectrol ; mod. 162-11103 ;res 10k +/-5% ;lin +/- .3%

I'll try to post a pic.

    Regards!

  6. "6.5" daylight readable steadicam monitor for less than 5k"

I don't want to be the wet blanket, but it's already available, it's called IMP/Lumavec Blackbird.

    http://lumavec.com/

I can only give two important reasons, why do I prefer My monitor:

    1: HD-SDI

2:LED backlit (more than 30% less power)

If you want I can give you more ,such as the monitor will be costume made for each costumer, the menu is HUGE with thons of options...and so on

Nikolay, I think I speak for a large portion of us ops when I say,

    If you have a:

    • 6.5"- 7" , 16x9 LCD Daybright monitor, 900nit or higher

    • HD/SDI/Analog/Component inputs

    • Frame Line Generator

    • and digital Level

then you have the ultimate monitor and all of us would love to see it, test it and buy it, especially if it's under 4-5k

So, PLEASE, send photo's specs and hook some of us up for field testing and we'll all give you are honest opinion.

Thanks for giving us an option for something different

You can see the first prototype here: http://www.steadicamforum.com/index.php?showtopic=9448

Difference will be that the new electronics will have framelines, but no level and will be anodized not painted.

I'll hook up some of you guys when the first one is ready.I'm planning to send it over there to some of you "active" members of the forum ,so you can spared the news ;-)

If anyone of you guys want to be this person ,please let me know

    Regards!

  8. Is there a need for an internal heater for very cold operating temps? I believe other LCD's have gone with the heater option. Being in Michigan, it's a concern for me.

Overall it looks like a great option for operators to consider. I like the fact your polling operators and integrating their suggestions into the design.

As a costume design solution I can add a heather, but I don't think it's necessary.I have test the monitor at -10 degree Celsius and it worked without a problem at all.

Also after few minutes the electronics heating itself.

  9. My girlfriend and I are having a little barbecue in Stoner Park on Sunday March 22nd. All are welcome I just ask that you let me know if you think you might come.

I will be providing charcoal and some Elgin Sausage (thats from Texas and much better than any sausage I have found around here). Come hungry and feel free to bring whatever you want to throw on the grill and whatever else you want to eat and drink. Keep in mind that LA parks don't allow alcohol so if you wish to enjoy an adult beverage please be discreet about it.

The address is 1835 Stoner Ave. Los Angeles, Ca

We will get there a little before 3pm and are thinking it will probably go until about 7 or 8pm. After that we can always move the party someplace else.

The Board won't allow more uploads because you have used up all the space allotted to your profile.

Go in to your Control Panel and delete some older or unused uploaded files and then you will be allowed to upload some new files.

I had the same thing happen to me last month.

  13. Try Scuba Diving!

If you want some relaxation Scuba Diving is great.

YES, YES, YES... but can get about as pricey as our profession...

If you can't stop yourself from buying stuff(like me),it is expensive.

I'm about to order UW housing for RED now.......

  14. Wile trying to find a serious machinist to make bodies of my HD Monitors,I decide to share the first pictures of the prototype.

If I cant find good and responsible man(company) to make the bodies I'll go to plan "B" -metal bodies not aluminum(will also be cheaper)

Those are the first pic's ,so you should know that the knob will be black for shore ,ON/OFF button will be switch at the back of the monitor ,so you can live it on.

This will be the base model, lots of options / inputs available.

    Any questions-ASK!

    Cheers!
