Intrigued by the handheld / Pro-Arm setup you are using in the image with the motorcycle helmet and I suspect in an earlier photo; would you mind telling us more about this camera platform on a pro-arm albeit off topic? That hanging truck shot.... Amazing! Big balls man! Jess, good find on the stronger daisy chain setup. I am going to go with that because I now no longer have confidence in my daisy chain. I see your double loop belt. I want a full harness though as would hate the whip lash from an emergency break especially considering the weird body positions we get into whilst operating. I agree with always anchoring in two places left and right otherwise it seems silly. What is current thinking with quad bikes? do you wear a harness or not at all? and if so where are you anchoring? I tend to wear one but anchored nice and low. I've heard both (with and without) be suggested, argument being that a quad rolls easily and you want to be thrown free, and I wonder if there is a more recent considered opinion.

This is interesting and definitely deserves further considered comment. I definitely don't think the forces are the same however in a collision or spin could they be similar. The thing that is really good about them is it enables you to tweak your rigging perfectly so you are completely snug in your camera position and able to lean against the rigging whilst feeling safe to push the sled out for a move. Like I say I tend to have my rigging really tight and lean against it the whole time. Stopping someone that has fallen for 3 seconds at 9.8m/s2 is very very different to a cars emergency breaking but probably similar to the car hitting a wall god forbid.

I actually as a rule refuse to soft mount but I do note the Sala would be a little tricky with a Walter Klassen. The Pretzel Navajo is only a half harness. Don't you think there could be serious whip lash issues in a collision with a half harness? I sort of want a full but I guess I'll get both.

Affirmative... I'm talking about full body harness so that you can sit on the rigging on the front of a car and skim the camera inches from the ground an 60mph and when the car stops your not torn apart because the grip only supplied you with a half harness. Comfortable and plenty of strong points so you can anchor near the shoulder and around the waste for emergency stops. etc

Which body harness are you guys using on vehicle mounts. Which is the very best one? I often come across not that good ones and I figure for my comfort I'd like to just have the best one in my kit at all times.

Is there a photo anywhere of this mystery cinetronic and its swim trunks?

Are those backstage Rickshaws really good for running shots? Like at proper speed? The Backstage and the Mantis don't seem as good to me as the chariot style rickshaws like Optical Supports old one. Jeremiah Daltons and David Allen Groves one. Can someone that knows both types explain to me the advantage of the really low riding rickshaws over the chariot style rickshaws.

I often wear a bicycle helmet. I wear the belt because I'm focusing on the frame so much I have no chance of bailing out and the grips sometimes pull some crazy stuff.

Taking a camera from foot level to below eye line off the back of a tracking vehicle off road. Has anyone ever tried jibbing up a moy garfield mount? Maybe even strapping a Pee-Wee onto the back of the Bickers vehicle and just jibbing up? Am I mental? Could it work? I don't really see why not but I'd love it if anyone had any thoughts.

We've been doing crazy shots on Optical Supports old style rickshaw these past 4 nights in Romania. Its a top Rickshaw and it takes balloon tyres as well which is great for doing really stupid dangerous stuff and it still looking good. Dunno about the Mantis... Not sure. I always request the older one. Certainly Optical support don't sell their rickshaws and they only sell their second hand ones abroad far away from England. Hans's Rickshaw has breaks! but its 10,000 euros not dollars. Almost certainly worth it but wow.

Like Sydney says. The HD-SDI standard has the ability to do the following: 24p, 25p, 30p, 50p and 60p So long as you stick to those rates its possible to record the feed. Incidently the Wevi has similar issues with off-frame rate as you may have noticed when you go 33p and the image jutters.

In the last 2 weeks I have had 2 jobs on tracking vehicles in the pouring rain. TB6 with a rain cover and covered in water is just visible! Those rain covers despite their best efforts, end up quite shiny. Can we use a Cinetronic in the rain with no rain cover on? Is it completely waterproof?

Can a REDMOTE do a techno crane type range? I thought it was limited to 2 or 3 m That would be very kind of you Louis! Thanks Thomas

I've never had a problem on super bright days with my Transvideo CineIIIa monitor. Its Super bright days with a little cloud to reflect over the image... or KinoFlos positioned to reflect into the image. These are the killers. Please test these factors at NAB and tell me what you think. Thanks

Can u make me one for the MDR1? I don't mind if it needs a 9v battery.

Is there an indication of a price yet? I'm guessing an extra arm module won't be cheap either! Can anyone hazard some guesses?

Preston have a solution for the MDR2 but does anyone know of a solution I could use with an MDR1? I'm just wondering if I could buy that PLC one for my digi bartech and then get some adapter cables made to use with my MDR1.
