  1. How are you using a point-of-sale system in a Steadicam business? I'm genuinely curious...
  2. Re-reading your post, Freshbooks will do everything you asked for. It does have an inventory function for items, but that function is primarily meant for sales instead of rental -- you'll have to go through and check items back in to the system by hand if you want it to tell you how many of each item you have in stock.
  3. I've been quite happy using Freshbooks, a web-based invoicing service. It's got about 90% of what you're looking for, and some neat features like one-click to have the client sent a paper invoice. (no printing/licking stamps/etc) And having invoices & accounting accessible from the web is massively, hugely useful.
  4. Dear Eric,

Are you still interested in those batteries?

    Best regards,

    Simon (818) 402-2389

  5. I can't tell how much of the blame for that shot should be laid on the crappy rig, or the crappy operator... it's a good try, though.
  6. How much of a difference did the Antlers make to getting dynamic balance?
  7. That 7812 is designed to be run attached to a heatsink (a big chunk of aluminum with fins on it to dissipate heat quickly) if you're using it with a significant amount of current or trying to cut the voltage down by much at all. It's kind of like using the brakes on a car; when you hit the brakes, they get hot if you're not careful. A switching regulator is like a hybrid car that charges the battery instead of using the brakes.
  8. After working as an operator and DP back in Boston, I realized it was either move now or get stuck there forever. So I pulled the trigger, split the cost of a 16' truck with a friend, and moved down here. I'm already liking the weather, and really liking the amount of work that's flying around! I'm a fairly new operator, still working on a reel and making enough money to buy a rig. While some friends let me use theirs occasionally, they're pretty busy, so I'm always looking for rigs to rent -- specially smaller rigs with wireless follow focus (for 5D & RED). Let me know if you're willing to rent yours!
  9. Does anyone know who might have a rig to rent in the area? (FilmStarRentals has an "Interceptor," correct me if I'm wrong but it seems a bit dodgy)
