  2. Ouch!! There would have to be a LOT of weight to do that. Even with a Vmount battery, you would still be safe for the bottom stage. And considering the Pilot is about 17 years old and those clamps are cast aluminum it could be due to age?? But if it was hit in just the right place that thing could snap easy. I've discontinued my Pilot as well!! Haha!! Did the set screw shear right through the carbon fiber?
  3. Just thought I'd update this topic a little. I recently purchased a nice used Scout with a Flyer arm. And of course I like to clean everything and make sure all is well with the mechanics. When I first pulled the rig out of the case I noticed right away that the gimbal was "bigger". Nice!! But after taking the rig apart and getting the gimbal off and disassembling it I realized it is just the same bearing housing as the Pilot and the Solo. Difference being a larger yoke and handle and a longer sleeve to accommodate the Delrin tube. As you can see in the pics there is no difference in the bearing housing. It uses the same yoke bearings as well. Food for thought I guess.....

  5. My Artemis docking model is the old one, which is not at all comfortable compared to the new models that Arri has now. I think if I were you, I would use the Arri one with the Koon accessory, but it's a matter of taste. Both models (Arri & Tiffen) are good. Gus
  6. For Sale is my Master arm. This arm can hold up to 65 lbs. Has the option to be detuned with a tool I include so you can change the range to support lower camera weights. I typically have it tuned so weight range is 25-55 but can be increased or decreased. Max weight range is 35-65 lbs without detuning the arm. I have an arm post for 3/4 but can also give you one for 5/8 sleds Located is Orange County, CA which is just south of Los Angeles. Can ship at cost $5000.00

  14. Hi Gus, Thank you for motioning that to me. I talked to Arri's staff to make sure the build is doable. I personally really like Arri docking design, what's the reason you changed to Tiffen's docking? Is that better for the gimbal? Or should I get a Volt Rester from Koon, https://www.kineticw.com/shop/volt-rester-for-m2-gimbal Do you think this is a good idea? Or I should go for the Tiffen docking directly. Best, Jiayu Li
  15. Hi Jiayu I bought the Volt kit with the tiffen volt gimbal 1 year ago and I had no problem adapting it to my 1.5 post . If you are going to buy the Artemis 2, let Arri know that you are going to use the Volt . https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1706199-REG/arri_kk_0044425_artemis_2_volt_post.html (the 1.8 post size does not work for volt, you should buy the Artemis post designed for Volt From what I have Understood, the Arri gimbal does not work for you and you must also buy their gimbal in the kit The docking bracket is a decision: You can use the Arri one or the Tiffen one. At first I used the Arri, but finally ended up using the Tiffen. Best to all, Gus
