I'm pretty sure you're never going to get dynamic balance on a Christmas tree (except of course for the Nordmann Fir) unless you use a liberal amount of Lisagav at the base of the tree. Josh

Good idea. I just recommended to someone to get the kip handle because it doesn't bother me at all on my XCS gimbal, so I'm not sure what the difference is but it's good to hear good solutions! Josh

Yeah it'll all work although I've had lcd monitors not turn on right away. Once they turn on they seem to be fine but it's better to keep them warm until you need them on. Batteries will die quicker so have more and make sure they can charge at cold temperatures. On a movie I was on in Michigan last winter we couldn't get the batteries to charge because they were too cold, so we got a space heater for the charging area on the truck for over night charging. can't see why not on a pro rig at least for the two battery slots in the back perhaps the battery slot for the monitor may not fit, and the onboard mount may not work, but it should fit in those back slots no problem. Josh

Rob, It's a vest that looks almost exactly like the master series vest with one exception(that I know of) someone replace the clips on the shoulder straps to the clips that the Pro vest uses. I'll be back in town next week and can show you pictures or just bring it by if you want. Bob Crone as far as I know is a canadian Steadi op who made vests for a while, not sure if he still makes em, but when one of the straps bit the dust a few years back I just bought a strap from tiffen which worked fine. nah...the 'gav is flamable so too much friction is bad (why it can't be used in tiffen arms) ahh right I forgot how flammable it is...your square wheels seems like the only good solution then. Josh

Considering that the wheels hang below the tiedown point and the pan wheel sits above the likely point of travel for the slider, it's a tough one to circumvent. Walter's offset version would help, but once you've panned to a certain degree the wheel is still going to hit the track. When I use the geared head with a slider, I just use the optional square wheels for clearance couldn't you just use a liberal amount of lisagav on the outside of the pan wheel and just crank the wheel hard?
