  2. my voice is for Actioncam RebelElit Vest too. Use it over 5 years, upgrade it to Carbon edition (all plastic parts changid to carbon). This upgrade helps me to survive under the 3ality)) For light cameras and small doors I use Actioncam Raptor Vest and Arm.

  4. flying 3ality in Russia We have a big Historical movie "Stalingrad" about WW2, and thy use three 3ality rigs small, mid and big... So small one is booking for steadi Job) The most problem is Dynamic balance and Gimbal blocking by bottom camera. It is Red Epic rig with CarlZeiss UP, Focus/Irirs drives. I use one 240IDX battery for the 3ality and top Epic and another 160IDX for bot Epic and Actionproducts HB monitor. It is good for 1,5 hour of flying. I use the rotation ability of the Actioncam rods on full putting the titan rods on 45% with two independent SwapPacks. That's makes some possibility of Dynamic balance 8-) Use full spring pack of RebelElit. I think that the weight of my sled with 3ality is about 34 kg
  5. Yes, I still using my Actioncam and have no plan to change it You may see the photos in my Facebook account http://www.facebook.com/max.volokh
  6. I use my Actioncam for almost 4 years in Russia It is worth every cent I put in it. I'm agree with Joshua. Just want to add the notes of the ability of any upgrade. You can use the RebelPro, and upgrade it to RebelElit with minimum money wasting. You can't compare it with Archer, reasonable to compare it with Ultra and PRO, Klassen but it is the HiEnd, not the Archer segment. The quality is the best. My 2 cents
  7. We just add the virtual horizon to Actionproducts U-Lex FIZ, so we have a PAL video splitter (1 in, 1 out pass and 2 OSD out) frame line generator with presets and custom adjust in it, and now the virtual bubble. At the same time it is really fast and powerful FIZ for any digital motor, 100 leans custom library, -30 +70 C working temperature, 3D mode. At the end of November we'll be ready to upgrade all existing U-Lex units and assemble new as the custom desire
  8. This swapPack could give you the ability to change battery on RED with out shutting it of http://actionproducts.ch/shop/product_info.php?cPath=3_18&products_id=101 the good side is that it has Red battery information line
  9. don't switch off the equipment. use NiCa batteries or new LiIon in parallel commutation. Cower all unused holes by the tape. Cower every thing you can by the winter cloth but don't cower the ventilation. When you finish. Take all batteries away from rig, put it in the case and leave at the room temp for the 2-3 hours. good lack 8-)
  10. Never see any person who will see any virus for MacOS Even in Russia Certified Apple Pro Video user and Service engineer from 2000 MacUser from 1994
  11. You have to know about the longest range of radio signal distance of U-Lex Russian Winter test passing Low power consumption (you can power it from RedOne start/stop plug at -20 C driving the heavy cinema leans) from 9V to 30V powering automatic and manual calibration (you may calibrate even AF Canon leans with out any additional gear) real time footage on screen display for Arri cameras DoF real time calculator adjustable SD frame line generator with aspect ratio presets remote voltmeter low cost LiIon batteries for focus handle 3 way of using Zoom handle and many more Max Volokh DP U-Lex co-deweloper/tester/owner Actioncam and Steadicam owner/operator
  12. I like the toy helicopters, good idea, but try not to use so wide leans all the time, the distortion warp the picture. fly safe 8-)
  13. I use Bartech for about 2 years in Russia, BFD+M-One is the best combination for that money (chip, powerful and reliable) As far as I know Actionprodacts sale its in Europe for the same price as Jim sale it in USA good luck

  16. Yes It's "Optica Elit" Not bad for that money, but the open iris is useless. It's useable at 2.8 and soft at 2.0. Mechanically you need to be very attentive with it. Some of them are disassemble in hands, some time the distance marks is wrong. If you wont to purchase it new you have to get long time warrantee. Any way, they are chip, but for me second hand Distagons, or Cooke, or ... is better. We use it, because it next door made. And according to my experience the service are not so friendly 8-(
  17. I can't recommend you to warm up your lens, in low temperature the result will be a condensate or you can get the ice inside of it. BFD is very good with M-One motor, but eating about 4 Amp at 12 Volt. I use NiCa batteries with my BFD at temperature lower then -10C. According to the ActionProducts U-Lex, I just begin testing it in Russian winters. Still no temperature problems, but I think if it down the -20 I'll change the power from 12 to 24-30 Volt. They make this mode for heavy conditions. I don't now if the Preston could work from 24V but if it can use NiCa batteries. Good lack
  18. We have presets and adjustable Pal frame line in U-Lex focus video splitter together with or without focus information superimpose
  19. about U-Lex. now it's on the final line of testing. Swiss people are perfectionists. As far as I know, they have some U-Lex for test drive in Switzerland in there office. Now I'll making the Russian Winter Test for both the monitor and U-Lex. I'm one of developers of this focus system. You know... When Brian and Daryl began to make there HD monitor one and half year ago, thy just wont to make the chip option for ActionCam. But this men can't do low end. The quality of picture, the angels, the body... all is excellent! As DP previously I use Transvideo HD 8 and always have a problems with angels and resolution quality and transvideo slowing visually about 2-4 frames. No slowing at ActionProduct HD 8 at all even at frost. Now Brian and Daryl together with us (software laboratory, MKBK and me) finishing the software tests. Hardware is ready 8-) What you see on the picts is the testing prototype.
