  5. Thanks a lot guys. I absolutely adore the clipper and the g-50 arm is like butter. I'm learning more and more every time I strap up how delicate and responsive the rig is. I worked on a student film yesterday and had an absolute blast. My body is finally starting to get used to the added weight of the rig and having the klassen vest has made a huge difference in terms of weight distribution. I'm also getting some great training carrying my equipment up four flights of stairs to my apartment. Gotta love that burning sensation you really start to feel at those last few steps.
  6. Hello all, I have been on the forum periodically for some time now soaking up as much information as a possible. This forum has been an invaluable resource and I thank all those who actively share their knowledge as operators. I attended the steadicam workshop in Melbourne last year which blew my socks off. Louis Puli runs a great show. I highly recommend it if any of you are ever down under. Not long after the workshop my pursuit of steadicam was put on hold because of a bad ankle injurie. During that time I did a lot physical therapy, studying, and research on what steadicam system I would purchase as an upgrade from my steadicam JR. I ended up purchasing Chris Konash's clipper 24 a few months back and a used Klassen harness from a local here in Brooklyn NY. I had to buy a new Klassen arm which I just got recently, so I've only been operational for a few weeks now. I'm not looking to rush into a steadicam career so I'm taking my time getting as much practice as possible and saving up money for certain items (bartech, etc.). I'm scheduled to work on a student film in the next month shot on a sony HDV HDR-FX1E. The film is a friend of mines degree project so any errors on my part I'm sure she will be fairly sympathetic. In the mean time I'd love to get together with any locals who are interested in having a second hand or newbies looking to practice. I work during the week but weekends are usually pretty good for me. Oh yea I'm not a Brooklyn native. I only just moved here from Portland Maine. I started off in my teens camera operating at a local tv station and have since gone on to get a degree in film a couple years ago. The steadicam JR was a fun and small rig but sometimes you need something a bit bigger, ha. Thanks and I look forward to being part of this community. -Ben Cooke
