  2. One of my Marshall monitors was doing that, it was the processor. It needed to be replaced. JA Yea I figured it wasn't good. Where did you send it for repair?
  3. Good luck, you should be fine. The Archer 2 up to this point has been a pretty solid rig for me. Never been a huge fan of the monitor though. To make it worst my Dovetail Locking plate (today) is not locking a camera down that is well within its weight range. Iv tried to tighten down the screw and adjust it but it is not helping. I have a pretty long shoot coming up in october so I gotta move fast.
  4. haha, seriously. Yep I am going to email Peter today. Thanks.
  5. Hey everyone, I have a pretty new Archer 2 rig and every once in a while the monitor starts acting up. . I attached a picture so you can see what it looks like. Has this happen to anyone else out there? The only way I have been able to fix it is to turn the monitor off and back on and it is gone for awhile. Should I send this back to tiffen? Best, Jake
  6. Janice Arthur's plates/cages are great! Just got a cage for my Archer 2 and couldn't recommend them more. -Jake
  7. Hey Chip, Any idea where you got the case? Best, Jake
  8. Archer 2 Here I come!!!

  10. Wow, what a bummer. Just from my own personal use with the zephyr and working with one at a workshop, I noticed as time goes on the clamp doesn't have a ton of durability and can become kinda finicky.
  11. Hey Robin, Thanks for the clarity. Best, Jake
  12. Hey Robin, Thanks for the update. Is the 6" Transvideo Superbright monitor the one that comes with the cheaper archer package? If not, which one comes with the cheaper one and does it have a horizon meter? Best, Jake
  13. Hey Aaron, Thanks for your response. Do you know if the SD monitor comes with a horizon indicator? What downconverter have you been using? What cables should I be planning on buying? Most of my work will be with the F3 , FS100, Red, and Epic. Thanks for all your help.
  14. Hey Thomas, Yea that sounds pretty awesome but I definitely need to cut costs where I can. I think out the gate I am going to have to go with the the Standard Def monitor. Working with beer money here. Where is a good place to look for upgrading my monitor a little down the line.
  15. Also if I ever wanted to upgrade the monitor later would it be difficult considering the wiring in the sled?
  16. The differences are Archer 2 comes with the G-40 arm, and there are only few aks in the kit. A2S and A2SE are almost identical. G-50 arm, Motorized stage (S= fore/aft) (SE= side-side and fore/aft) Lowmode kit Stand Archer 2SE also got: Leather LX vest Power Cubes IDX, and Charger Thomas :-) Hey thanks for your responses. According to tiffen all the Archers now come with the G-50 Arm. I dont think I am going to get a motortized stage. The extra cost is pretty significant. Does anyone have any experience using the motorized stage and see why is could be really handy?
  17. Hey Everyone, I am in the process of purchasing a New rig and have been looking at the archer. I notice there is 3 different models; Archer 2, Archer 2 SE, & Archer 2s. What are the major differences between all these models? The price varies greatly between them. Thanks for your time and is anyone Located in the DC / MD area? -Jake
  18. Hey Everyone. I have been operating a Pilot for sometime now and am in the market to pick up a bigger rig and get serious about operating. I am pretty certain I am going to go with the Archer 2. I am looking at the pricing and see a big difference in pricing depending on what monitor I get. There is about a $6000 difference between getting 7"STD def 700 monitor and an HD Ultrabrite 2 Monitor. They have a middle of the road HI-def monitor that falls right in the middle price wise. That being said I was curious on your guys take on the monitors and what I should be taking into consideration in when purchasing. Any ops located in the MD DC Area? Thanks for your time! -Jake
