  1. you're right... all I see is someone being a dick online. That's all I know about you. Your posts are thick with butthurt. I see you found the white balance button by the second video, so you're learning. And that's a good thing.
  2. I thought I was watching Jurassic Park for a second. Awesome horizon that system gives!
  3. Great work going on in these commercials. There's a series of them and they're all set inside a dealership and they're all oners and there is some pretty solid operating. I'm talking backwards through doorways at a quick pace, landing the beats, and then continuing on; very smooth. I have my suspicions. Anybody know for sure?
  4. I run this same setup and I, like Matt P, periodically remove the docking ring to check the upper and lower J-Box ring. Another great idea which I culled from the depths of this forum! B)
  5. I'd like to not break the package up, Mathieu. However, just in case somebody else also wants only 4 batteries along w/ the Quad Charger, what is your offer for 4 batteries and the Dual Charger?

    Thx!

  6. Used for 14 days on a feature in the Summer of 2011. Went back to using my old PRO gimbal handle, at that point. The tape is only there as I was holding the gimbal handle in that area and the notch that is stock in the foam was totally aggravating the crap out of me, so I cut the foam straight and then used baseball-bat tape and rescue tape to build the lower area up to be flush with the rest of the foam. Feels fantastic! Hardly any wear at all (come on, 14 days. . .). $1300 from Greg Bubb, before you pay the tax man. Asking price: $1100. Find attached a pic of a stock XCS Ergo handle (so you can see why/where I put the baseball-bat tape), along with a variety of centerfold-esque pics of mine. Thanks for looking!
  7. Purchased these in a lot-purchase. They had no serials and I was unsure of the battery life, so I took the 8 batteries down to IDX and had them tested and all batteries had new serial #'s assigned to them. Please find attached the report on the batts and pics of items. They range from 81WH Capacity Remaining to 85WH Capacity Remaining (84.36WH is what they shipped with, new). Comes with one Quad-Charger (VL-4S) and one Dual-Charger (VL-2 PLUS). Shipping case is cut for 2 quad chargers and foam will have to be glued into one of the spaces to make the dual charger feel nice and snuggly and ready for serious transpo. Asking price: $3000 with the case and reports.
  8. Steadicam Gold: Do whatever works for YOU. There is no one way to fly; anyone that tells you so is just plain lying or too dumb to know the truth.
  9. Yes! Would love to test it out! Perhaps Pedro and I can come in together on this?
  10. Yup, you're all correct and I ended up shipping the charger back to the seller, as it was completely falsely advertised and was actually a 2401 charger. Seller ate all of the expense, including the restock fee by Anton Bauer on the DDS, and I found a legit (hopefully) 2702 from Adorama. Thanks for all of the advice! B)
  11. Picked up an Anton Bauer 2700 charger for what appears to be a steal on FleaBay. It was advertised as a 2702 with the Discharge Module but when it showed up it did not have that feature. The seller was nice enough to refund the cost of upgrading to the Discharge Module. Long story short, I installed the Discharge Module but it seems like I have none of the options available to me outside of the 24hr test and the standard discharge test. According to the manual I should be able to see each digital batteries model number, serial, charge and discharge cycles, etc.. I'm getting nada. I'm using Anton Bauer Dionic 90's and also Dionic HC's. These batteries do claim to be digital on the AB website, so I'm at a loss for why I am unable to attain the above info from these batteries on this charger. Any ideas on what's going on here? Are the 90's/HC's just not built with the capacity to transmit internal data to the 2702? Thanks so much, everybody.
  12. Just looked at Wolfgang's pic again, and it appears his height issues can be solved by merely switching from that egregiously large knob to a Kipp handle. Or am I being misled by the pic's angle?
  13. My response to your inquiry is identical to the OP's; it is 2 posts up! Get the right stuff the first time: the most surface area plus the most stable platform. The only thing that I really don't like about the RedRock Micro system is the DSLR mount, which I am having my machinist come up with a work-around (Sal from Cinematic Precision). I shall post pics when I have that piece available. But it will be compatible with the system I described in the post above.
  14. Easy fix, although not cheap: get two cheese plates from RedRock Micro along with two 15mm iris rod clamps (they come with two thick shims, each). I believe the above is available as a kit from CES out of Burbank, right off the I5. Then, you'll be using the iris rods (I usually use 18" rods for this setup) to essentially hold the two cheese plates in alignment, plus the RedRock Micro's DSLR mount clips onto the 15mm iris rods. Then, you'll want to secure the two cheese plates to a common surface. Since I fly a bigger rig this is a no-brainer for me as I attach all DSLR setups to a weight cage/plate system. Should you not have one, Janice Arthur can build you one to your dimensions (first calculate your total load: camera, lens -- the heaviest one you use -- follow-focus system, battery, cables, cheese plates, iris rod clamps, shims, DSLR mount, iris rods, sled, monitor, batteries, i.e. THE WORKS), then figure out the total load capacity of your arm and have a plate made that will keep the total weight under the total carrying capacity of arm (by a good margin. . . say 15-20%, if possible). As a further piece of advice, I would build the entire shebang and then take it to whomever is building/fabricating your plate (seriously, go with Janice, I hear nothing but great things about her stuff), so that they can look at the spacing of the holes on your cheeseplates in order to take the guesswork out of where, exactly, to place the holes (which will further be tapped/countersunk) which you will use to affix your dovetail, which will then mount into your topstage. Boom. You have a system that has dropped your c.g. significantly, provided a large, flat, stable, common mounting-surface, and also added a bit of weight, thereby enabling you to get your gimbal up and lose the non-operator-induced shake. Hope this helps. I can take pics of my setup tomorrow.
  15. I'm running these cameras from on-boards, exclusively. Checked out by Terry West, yesterday, and given the "a-okay". $200 Oh, and you can buy the adapter cable from Red that plugs into this and makes it an EPIC/SCARLET cable, also! 2B TO 1B POWER ADAPTOR CABLE
