  1. Hi Everyone :D I am looking for a 5" 16:9 Master Series Monitor that can replace my 4" 4:3 Broadcast version. I'm pretty sure there is such a beast, otherwise correct me if I'm wrong. Also looking for a circuit schematic for the Broadcast sled's onboard frameline generator as the bottom line can't be adjusted all the way down and I want some info before I start digging into it. Cheers Norbert :)
  2. Hi Jens Just wondering if this unit was still for sale? I bought an older 3 channel Seitz from the USA a month ago but I haven't been able to get it working. If there is a problem with it, I'll probably return it for a refund. If so, I'll be needing something that does work. Please let me know the status of yours. Cheers Norbert :)
  3. Hi folks :) Don't know how I managed to get this in for sale instead of wanted. Sorry about that. Cheers Norbert :D
  4. Hi folks  As funny as it may seem, I've just acquired a Seitz 8710A 3 channel system (an oldie but a goodie I hope!) and need a manual or copy there of to help me figure out the setup procedure. Also I bought separately a second motor but it runs with 4 pin lemo instead of 5 as with the Seitz. Does anyone have a wiring diagram and will it work as 5 to 4 adaptor cable? Cheers Norbert
  5. Hi all :) I'm in need of various parts to a Cinema Products Camraprompter circa 1980. These include: 1) variable speed controller 2) all drive belts 3) bottom supply roller 4) semi silvered mirror 5) milk glass diffuser for between acetate roll and lighting tubes 6) acetate rolls I hope to find original parts to save me the agro of having to build or jury rig bits otherwise I'll just mod it for an LCD display. Please let me know, any leads would be appreciated. Just a crazy thought, the unit has a reversible variable speed drive motor with the designation "636P", anybody know who makes it or ever tried using one on a remote FF + Zoom kit? Cheers Norbert :D
  6. Hi All When I asked guy from Arizona who eBayed me the Master Broadcast sled, he lied and said it was switchable, so now I'm looking for wiring schematics so I can try to do the mod myself. Can't rust anyone nowadays!! Anyway, it's not as hard as you may think if you have the correct info and a steadi (pun intended) hand. A high quality PDF or JPEG would be best. Cheers Norbert ;)
  7. Hi All Just found this on eBay, a new monstrousity from Steadydrive. eBay Professional stabilizing system from STEADYDRIVE Item number: 290149586371 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...hlink:middle:au Thought this may lighten the mood for those who've had a bad day! Cheers Norbert :D P.S. Can't believe a German built this!!
  8. Hi guys :) I've been trying to get an answer from anyone at BOB who speaks english well enough to understand what I want without much luck. If anyone has a direct number for Mr. Big in the hiring dept please let me know. Everyone seems to be beating round the bush re: the rates that BOB are paying. Please, enquiring minds want to know before I waste more of my time and energy chasing my tail. Don't be shy! Cheers Norbert
  9. Thanks Erwin "The Seitz was before my time"...Boy, ya' sure know how to make a bloke feel old!! Hey, wait a minute...I am old! (54 tomorrow - OUCH!). Anyway, I'll chase them up and see what's available still. Cheers Norbert
  10. Hi all I'm just a poor country boy who just bought a used Seitz 4 channel system including 1 Heden M26p Motor, brackerty etc. Im looking for another motor or two and bits for driving an iris and/or zoom at a reasonable price. This is my first experience with FF gear so any advise would be appreciated (other than "ditch it for a Preston or Bartech"!!). Should I be looking to do something else? Cheers Norbert
  11. It's me again, I forgot to include the asking price which is $7000AUD. It is also listed on eBay, item ID #300140755999 where more pics can be seen as well. Thanks for looking! :D Cheers Norbert
  12. Hi all This is sort of custom Steadicam was my first real sled after the dreaded Basson. It came pre-loved from MK-V in London two years ago. I have flown everything from a Panasonic DVX-100 (with weight plate) to a Sony Digibeta and my Panasonic DVCPro50. I added the Teletest OZL7000 16:9/4:3 PAL/NTSC monitor. The sled uses 14V Cinema Products Steadicam 3A battachment=1821:steadfull.jpg]atteries. There are 5 complete batteries and one shell with all bits ready to re-pack. Three of the batts were re-packed late last year and will run the sled and any broadcast camera easily for longer than I've needed. The other two don't hold a charge for long and need to be re-packed. The charger is Frezzolini Dual Micromaster. The J-bracket came from Whitehouse AV. A Pelican 1650 case is included which is foamed for the sled, 4 batts, charger, bits and pieces and a Rig Steadicam arm (not included in sale). It has served me well for two years but time to move onward and upward. This sled would be good for a newbie who can then add a variety of arms and vests of their choice for a relatively low cost starter kit. PLEASE NOTE: If money is a concern, I have another alternative for a monitor which would see a brand new Glidecam L7-PRO replace the Teletest for a $1600AUD approx. discount against the price. Equipment List: 1 x Steadicam with x-y axis top stage with dovetail plate, no tools gimbal, dual battery bottom stage 1 x Teletest OZL7000 16:9/4:3 PAL/NTSC Colour monitor with bracket and hood 1 x Lemo to XLRF-4 power cable 1 x short Preston bracket 1 x J-bracket 1 x Panavision docking/spin bracket 1 x Frezzi-PAG Dual Micromaster 3A battery charger 5 x CP Steadicam 3A batteries 1 x 3A battery shell with all parts 1 x Pelican 1650 case If you need more info or want more pics just let me know and I'll send them outside the forum. Cheers Norbert :P
  13. Hi one and all Since I now have my master broadcast sled to play with and an old but faithful Seitz FF on the way, I'm hopeful of doing some HD shooting for a client with the F900 in the future but from what I remember it doesn't have an analog video out and needs a downconverter. Can anyone give me their recommendation for a cost effective box that will do the job without me having to sell my wife into slavery. The AJA gear is pretty pricey and the Balck Magic stuff only seems to have HDMI/DVI outputs. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Cheers Norbert :)
  14. Hi guys I contacted Mark Chambers @ Digital Systems and he quoted me $2600USD & $150USD shipping for Australia. There ya' go, ask and ye shall receive! Cheers Norbert :P
  15. Hi guys Thanks for all your help with my request. As much as I'd like to go the cheapest rout practical, I need to put on something reasonably professional so I'll either get the Tiffen Flyer or the Glidecam L7-PRO monitor depending on who has stock and the best shipping deal. The sooner I get it, the sooner I can sell my rig. Cheers to all! Norbert :P
  16. Hi all I checked the archives but couldn't find any info on DYIing a 12v-24v switch system for a Master Broadcast sled. I'm hoping someone can help me with a source for the bits needed to do this as I'm quite prepared to fit it myself if I can get the parts. Cheers Norbert
  17. Isn't the little 7" LCD that Tiffen sells with the Steadicam Flyer in that price range? Hi Robert Thanks for the thought but I just checked Tiffen and they have a $4,850USD price for the F-24 HD-SDI Flyer monitor. Hell, my Teletest only cost $2500AUD landed at my door! Forever hopeful! Cheers Norbert
  18. Hi all :D I've just bought a secondhand Master Series Broadcast and will be selling my old Frankensled probably via eBay. It presently has a Teletest 7" Colour LCD which I like very much and want to keep for other production work. I'm looking for a cheapie replacement that would be acceptable for a newbie to work with if it had a Hoodman etc. as this is probably the level of market who will buy it. Any recommendations on something between $500USD and $1000USD would be appreciated. Cheers Norbert
  19. Hi all :D I am waiting expectantly for my used Masters broadcast sled to arrive from the US of A and I suddenly realized that I'll need a replacement docking bracket since the old one will be sold with the old sled. Does anyone have a spare laying around they don't have a sentimental attachment to. Please let me know what you'd want to give it a new home here in "paradise", Cairns, Australia. Please include shipping cost and let me know if you take Paypal as it would make the money part easy. Cheers Norbert
  20. Hi Erwin If I remember correctly France uses SECAM which is a PAL like system with a difference. If the PAL Pegasus is not suitable for him or he doesn't want it please let me know how much as it would be fine for me in Australia, thanks.
  21. Hi gang I am still in need of a charger adaptor the goes from XLR4 male to the old CP Steadicam batteries. I have included a pic of the one that I have but I want to make use of the second output on the charger. I hoping that there is another one somewhere. Let me know what you want including shipping to Australia. http://www.steadicamforum.com/forums/index...post&id=781 -------------------- Norbert von der Heidt SteadiPilot norbert@steadipilot.com
  22. Hi Charles I became quite familiar with the inner workings of the basson and nothing is industry compatible. It lives entirely in a world of it's own but the good part of that is; some common sense, a hacksaw, drill, a screwdriver and a few spare bucks (to buy ebay bits) are all that's needed for the most part, to radically change this machine for the better. Just don't ask too much from it, and for the newbie, that may not be such a bad deal after all. By the way, I sent pics and details of all my mods to the head honch at Basson recommending these changes to his product. He replied that it would price the unit out of it's intended market. Seems a strange answer for a company that is currently advertising it's products in American Cinematographer. I'm sure someone at the AC ad sales department must have gotten a chuckle over that one. cheers Norbert
  23. Hi Gabriele My first rig was a Basson BSN800 and yeh, it was terrible but being a handy guy, I made many mechanical modifications; both by me and by my local machine shop and I upgraded the 12V power to 14.2 with double IDX NP-1 batt holders. It took some time and many frustrating trials and errors but I was finally able to make it fly a DigiBeta with dynamic balance. Is it worth the trouble... only you can decide that but all I know is that it gave me a way in at a price I could live with. When I moved up two years later, I was able to sell it on eBay for 70% of the price I paid for it, which was better than I expected. If you decide to go that route let me know, I'll send you pics and info as to the mods I did that worked for me. Cheers Norbert
