  1. If the camera is 100w And the batteries are rated at 90w/hr That should mean I get slightly less than an hour with a battery at that load, obviously with all the extra bits on the rig and peak loading will be less .. Tested the gen 2 already, seems to work fine.. Have a backup monitor on standby incase anything funky happens.. My issue with it is the power backfeed from the monitor into the sled, if 3 batteries on the one circuit is going to cause issues
  2. Have a job from Monday running a f65, couple of questions to ask as I have not run this system (apart from yesterday's gear check) My rig- GPI PRO cinelive + gen4 base (with 3rd battery pos) Cinetronic gen2 Anton Bauer dionic HC Teradek bolt Bartech I was reading how the cinetronic back feeds power to the sled and I am wondering about the adverse effects of having 3 batteries in parrallel on the one circuit on that sled/monitor combo.. We will be shooting off speed and I had heard about the enormous power consumption of the camera, especially shooting off speed. I have 14 batteries + 3 chargers (tm4, tq2, 2702) Shooting in a remote desert location Also shooting in low mode and have the sled totally extended with 4 batteries attached and still not able to get the gimbal too far from the stage, any ideas without having to add more weight to the bottom Any other tips or advise about shooting with this camera? Also attaching the teradek, would it be ok running on the base and not the camera, easier for me to power and in an remote area, nothing cept open space, no rf interference, or keeping it at the highest point in the system is best? Cheers, Justin Besser
  3. Was hoping to get some feedback on my first steadicam demo reel. Mixture of some live and some production work. My current background - - Steadicam Assistant for 4 years (with some operating jobs here and there) - Steadicam Owner/Operator (4 months) - completed Steadicam Gold Course 2 years ago Recently purchased GPI Pro CineLive, some off that, some off Archer2. http://vimeo.com/66556046 Cheers, Justin Besser
  4. I can highly recommend this! Pro CineLive owner, the system is beautifully built, has options to do whatever you need and the customer service at pro is A+ .. dealing with them even from the other side of the world (Sydney, Australia) has been the best service experience i've had ..
  5. Chris, any chance of another update in regards to how many preorders your looking to fill and where we fit in that list.. Cheers Justin Besser
  6. have a cinetronics gen2 + yoke on order, waiting on that one, will solve problem A this is more just the part that attaches to a "u Spud" so I can mount a backup monitor if need be, and ive commited to the sachtler monitor bracket ..
  7. after a universal monitor mount to attach to a u spud or directly into a pro hole .. have a sachtler monitor bracket // Cheers Justin
  8. new PRO owner here. wondering if there is a long handle that is available for the gimbal, is it a user replaceable part ? what are my options, ideally with same handle diameter . I am finding the handle slightly cramped when using a zoom controller. Justin
  9. Interested in who might be using a pro-sled primarily for live tv/sport work. Is this the best option? what else are people using? modular config (DB2, Tele Post, Batt Gen3) is what I am considering. will be flying Sony PDW-800 + Linksys L1500 + Lens (approx 20pounds) mainly with some Alexa/Epic film style jobs aswell. g50x arm to keep weight and profile small. but will that max out too fast, slightly unsure of sled weight? other options without too dissimilar a price? That was the main option I was considering, 2nd option which is motivated more by cost would be one of the Sachtler sleds (CINEHD) .. Located in Australia, so no option for a local service provider except for Tiffen/Steadicam (through Lemac) not sure their system gives me the flexibility I am after. Cheers, Justin
  10. I am doing this course .. very excited to say the least!
  11. I have a steadicam provid, have made some upgrade to the system (removed green monitor and replaced with tvlogic HD on a custom built monitor bracket) running on upgraded vest and 3A arm. next in line for an upgrade is the topstage. currently had some really bad side-side slipping issues, i guess due to an inherent design fault with that topstage, there is no lock and after many years of use the worm screw system has gotten loose. After a different topstage, either if someone has one around that would be a better fit that they are looking to offload. or if they can point me in the direction of a good and reasonably priced system. thinking the MK-V standard system looks pretty good to me. Thanks Justin Besser justin@besserproductions.com
  12. Gday All, First time post. I have a ProVid steadicam that has seen some better days (years of running the sideline at the football in the elements and little upkeep have taken it to this place), The vest notably has begun to fall apart by the velcro fitting straps that hold the ribcage buckles on have peeled back off the velcro, the vest is currently being held together by some trusty gaff tape. It is my job to get this vest back in good (well as best can be) condition. I was wanting to find out if anyone knew of someone in the Sydney, Australia region that repairs vests OR would suggest a service that might do some industrial/heavy duty style stitching to replace the velcro. attached is a photo of the back of the vest, its gaffed up, but underneath are the velcro buckle straps that are missing the hook side velcro.. would appreciate any help Cheers, Justin Besser
