My name is James and I live in France. I would like to get information regarding transporting a steadicam pilot from the US back to France.
A friend of mine is going back to the US in a few days and I thought why not get a rig over there since it's a bit cheaper and I could use the saved cash for accessories. I'm not really knowledgeable with this kind of thing and I can't seem to find any info regarding this topic. Like legal stuff, is it possible to hand carry? Should I worry with customs?
I don't own a company and there is no important productions involved. I'm just a normal guy who loves to do video and wants to upgrade / invest from a Merlin.
I hope I could get info on this ASAP so that I could bail out quickly (I already gave my friend the funds). He is leaving in 3 days.
I really appreciate it if someone here has any experience transporting their steadicam abroad.
