  1. Sorry, forgot to add some more details. It ships out of the Nashville, TN area. And I'd prefer that you e-mail me about questions or offers. tonyjreyes@gmail.com
  2. I'm selling my green TFT Monitor from my Master Series. I think I've only personally used it twice. I'm primarily targeting live event type work so I needed a monitor that could do SDI. I bought the rig from Danny Harb (HP Video) in Knoxville, TN. I had the rig serviced by Mike Craigs (Tiffen, Burbank). He gave me the go ahead to sell the monitor. I would say that it is in "good" shape and still performs as it should. I took the last two pictures with my iPhone. I can take better pictures of the monitor actually on if you need to see that. Willing to accept a good/fare offer. I'm wanting to move it quickly as I'm trying to buy more equipment. Go figure : )
  3. The learning curve has been mildly stressful! But it's great to get in there and learn about this beautiful piece of machinery/design. I've been trying not to call or e-mail my contact (Derek Hester) at Tiffen. Don't want to annoy him too much : ) I'm thinking that it has to do with the salt issue that I have been having with my rig. Most of the surface rust is gone. I just don't want an even larger problem to be growing in the gimbal : / So you're saying a little spray of WD40 wouldn't hurt?
  4. Thank you for the responses. The 1.5" worked well. Jerry, I did notice that it was less iso. I'm planning on modifying it back down to .75". It seems like even when I have larger ENG cameras on my sled I tend to be adding the viewfinder just for extra weight. Hopefully this will at least alleviate that. Thanks again.
  5. Ok, thank you everyone for the responses. I'd say that the crisis has been averted. However, just felt the gimbal, it's a little grimy feeling. It was much smoother before this. Before I go spraying WD40 (potentially making it worse), any recommendations?
  6. I just worked blocks from the ocean for about 4 days. Parts of the arm, sled, and vest are showing rust. Anything I can do? I don't want it to keep rusting at the very least. I'm on my phone right now. I can post pictures when I get home.
  7. This whole process has been pretty nerve racking. The springs would shift a millimeter counter clockwise or clockwise and I would correct. Those are nylon spacers and it is at .75" right now. Right now it seems like it holds a little less. I tried 30 lbs. but both sections of the arm weren't floating correcting. I'm going to add another 3/8th spacer. Does 1.5" to 2" of spacers sound like too much?
  8. Wow, thank you very much for that info. I needed the "Idiot's guide." I also just found in the Steadicam Operators Handbook (p.268) where they show how to do it. I'll try this tomorrow and let you guys know how it goes. This may be a huge lifesaver. I'm about to do a brutal job with a light camera. I was going to have to add tons of weight.
  9. Aside from the two adjustment knobs there is another way to adjust tension on the knobs? I'm wanting to make the weight range from 30-60 lb. range.
  10. This thread has been very helpful to me. I'm actually interested in adding those spacers. The minimum weight that my arm carries is 40 lbs (that's with sled, battery, camera, etc.). Upper arm seems to be able to adjust lower but the forearm's adjustment knob is all the way backed out at 40. Does this sound normal? I find that I'm often adding weight to cater to the arm. Will I have to send my arm to Tiffen to get spacers added? And, what type of weight range (including sled, batts, camera, etc.) would I be looking at with spacers? Thanks, Tony
  11. I've combed over this topic thoroughly and this is what I have gathered. Below is what I'm looking at buying to switch from the old CRT to an LCD. Questions: -Will the Marell mount take the Zacuto arm? I'm under the assumption that both are the standard 15mm system. -Will this monitor perform well as a Steadicam monitor? Thoughts? Yes I would love to buy a UltraBright Rainbow monitor from Transvideo with their bracket. That setup looks beautiful. But I don't have the 3 grand that it will cost after US to Euros and shipping. Thanks in advance everyone!
  12. Anyone know if thing only takes Transvideo monitors? I'm wanting to put a Marshall on it.
