Got this call as well. Apparently it works by attaching a small RFID chip or something similar to the actor which the focus driver then hones in on and keeps the focus locked on that particular person or object. This concept seems to make more sense than the Easyfocus which I have never seen work well in practice. I don't see it as being particularly useful for steadicam, but it could be helpful for extremely long lens action shots on cranes etc, where focus is critical and there isn't room for multiple takes.

Can anyone provide a firsthand account of flying the F55? One of my friends over at Panavision mentioned to me that some people are having issues with the form factor of the camera in terms of mounting points, brackets, rods, etc. (maybe they're just having an issue with the panavision rod system?). I also heard of issues with sony's new external recorder. Can anyone corroborate any of this? A good friend of mine is on the verge of buying one, so I'd love to hear some impressions from a fellow steadicam op. Thanks!

Actually come to think of it, I also have two dead Dionic HCs. They were dropped in salt water so I think the internals are fried, but the shells are still in great shape. You are welcome to those.

Does it need to be a dionic? I have a ton of dead AB Hytron 50s that you can use.

Both the DBII and DBIII require a 5/32 allen key to tighten the screw. PRO specifically designed them this way as a safety measure.

WTB - Camos SD Wireless Director's Monitor w/ Handles and AB plate if possible, or similar system. I would have purchased one new, but Cramped Attic no longer carries them, and I can't find them anywhere else.
