  1. Hi Alexis, are you still looking for a sled? I have a MK-V Evolution for sale with Transvideo 6" Ultrabright monitor. V-Lock battery plates, dovetail plates, docking bracket. Betz tools topstage. Electronics re-done by Betz for HD. Lots of cables for monitor and power for different cameras. Sled and docking bracket plus all acc fit in a Peli 1700 case which comes with the package. Looking for 10K Euros. I can send more and better pics if you're interested. Best regards, Sven
  2. Hi Robin, Just out of curiosity, how do you plan on doing a five and a half day workshop in just 3 days? ;) Anyways, have fun there! I know I did in Ischia. Hope to see you at the IBC. Best, Sven
  3. I can imagine... If I had read this thread on time, I would have flown over just to be part of it. Jealous, Sven
  4. Hi, I tried the vest last year at the IBC and I can also say it is probably the most comfortable FM vest I've ever worn (I'm a BM user). Very well padded and very adjustable. I'm sure it can andle heavy cameras. Best, Sven
  5. Hi try googling 'unipole and multipole connectors lemo'. This took me to a comprehensive Lemo catalogue with lots of helpful tips and tricks about Lemo connectors, plus an explanation of their not-so-simple parts and pieces code. Good stuff! Cheers, Sven
  6. Amando, Looks nasty! Glad to hear you're OK...
  7. Hi Andreas, My guess is, connect the 2 leads that go to your photo cell to pin1 (GND) and pin2 (tally). What I make up from the manual is that internally these two are closed when the camera is on air (the same thing that happens in the photo-cell, when it is hit by light). It doesn't matter which lead connects to which pin, it's just a contact that opens or closes inside the camera. The LEDs do need external power. But that's just my guess... Ask a trained professional to be sure! Best, Sven
  8. Watch out for Amando... He's trouble! ;)
  9. Hi Hervé, How about camera controls (colors, iris,...) on multicamera shows? Don't know about France, but over here these settings get tweaked constantly by the vision/tech department. With the TitanHD, I would think you can't control the camera. Or would you use the RS323 data signal for that? With most OB facilities providers heavily invested in wireless Thomsons and Dcams, I don't see how the Titan (with it's lack of camera control) would be a match...? I'm sure it's great for single cam stuff, don't see the point in using it for OB/multicamera. Would love to hear your thoughts. Best, Sven
  10. Hi guys, I wish I could be there, but I'm not going to make it... Have fun though! Sven
  11. Hi Bryan, I've taken mine on a transatlantic flight and a 'domestic' European flight as it is, no bag or anything. Just asked the flight attendant to store it in a closet nearby, or put it in the overhead compartment. All I did was remove the carbon arm , which I put in my checked bags. Another thing I did was take a copy of the invoice with me along with a picture of me wearing the vest and the rig, in case of questions... which were never asked. I'm sure some people would think I'm nuts doing this, but it worked great... Have a safe trip! Sven
  12. Hi Eugenio- I have an MK-V standard topstage here, that I would be willing to sell. http://www.mk-v.com/?p=63 It is basically the same as a 3a topstage. If you're interested, I can get you pictures. Let me know. Best, Sven
  13. Hi Jess- Don't know if it's exactly the same camera, but this is a setup I used some time ago. That is a 0.6 gear for focus. The 15mm bars adapter is from Cavision (nr R15PU). Hope this helps. Best, Sven
  14. Hi all, I know chances are slim, but thought I'd ask anyway... Anybody have a Transvideo Titan package (Tx - Rx) they want to part with? Let me know... Best, Sven
  15. Hey Charles, It was great to meet you at the IBC, finally know the face that goes with the name... Boy, you don't do half work, that's a great review. I found out about the socket block differences right here on these boards some time ago, surprised me as well. Regarding ABC products: I knew it was a centersprung arm, so I wasn't expecting as smooth a ride as my G50. What I did find rather disappointing was the boom range: I don't think I got more than 30cm (1 foot?) from it. Very limited. But as you said, the vest fitted nicely, and the center spar mechanism was very cleverly designed, just lift the lever and slide up/down. Also, all the little details were very nice: a (removable) sack on the back for wireless comms or the velcro loops on the shoulder and chest straps for attaching cables, cool. The guy who showed us the sled knew what he was talking about (you can't say that about all of the 'lesser gods' of stabilizers) and told us he was open to suggestions and would consider producing any accessory/bracket/clamp anyone would suggest... at least that's the right spirit. Oh yeah, the sled was pretty nice too, many options for balancing, solid gimbal and a good diameter grip. I learned right there you shouldn't just write off the smaller companies because they're... well... smaller. Best, Sven
  16. Hey guys, I'll be there Friday and maybe again on Monday if I can't see all I want to see in one day. Cheers, Sven
  17. Hi Richard I rent this system when I need 2 or more channels. I own the Digifox single channel remote from the same manufacturer (which I like very much BTW). It has always worked flawlessly. I've used it both with Heden and Scorpio motors. Easy setup and calibration of the motors. I like the fact that you can choose between single and dual handset modes. This gives you separate remotes for iris and zoom/focus. One for the DP and one for the assistant. Good luck on your choice! Best, Sven
  18. Thanks Robin, if the design has changed I'll have another look at it and reconsider... Sven
  19. Hi Matteo, I guess you're talking about the G-50? The same thing happened to me (my arm didn't fall from the stand either, luckily). I told Robin about it and he said he had some spares lying around. Never got round to getting one here, though. I hang my arm on the side studs of my docking bracket (MK-V) in the opening next the arm post. I don't see any harm in that, and it's not likely to come apart there. (Anyone think it could hurt?) Besides, if already two of these little cables broke, I'm not getting an new one, I don't think I'll ever again hang my arm from them again... Good luck! Sven
  20. Jason, If possible, try the unit on your gimbal before buying. I have a Bebob DVX controller (about 5 years old) that I put on my Flyer gimbal way back when, but it doesn't fit on my MK-V gimbal anymore. The handle diameter is too large/screws are too close together. Would be a shame to get something that doesn't fit. Of course you could modify with a microphone clamp as someone here did, I seem to remember a picture of that. Good luck! Sven
  21. Hi Marco, What Job means is this: if you put a wireless camera on the sled, the wireless signal is picked up by the postcable. The cable turns into a sort of antenna, amplifies the signal and blows every other wireless signal (bartech, in-ear monitoring, ...) away. The cable they used is not adequately shielded. If you're not using a wireless camera (ENG style or HD cine), you should be fine getting HD-SDI through the post. Although I heard the MK-V V3 postcable is not even good enough to simply carry HD-SDI. Job's findings actually kept me from upgrading to the V3 electronics... Best, Sven
  22. Hi Bart Send me an email at sven(dot)joukes(at)telenet(dot)be, I'll give you the address of a shop that has the Pilot in store... Where in Belgium are you located? Best, Sven
