  1. Hey, If anyone has the 12V XLR to 3-Pin LEMO for the Zephyr, I could use it for a shoot coming up real soon. I'd be interested in buying or renting, just let me know if and when! For reference, this is the Tiffen version of the cable I'm looking for: http://www.tiffen.com/displayproduct.html?tablename=steadicam&itemnum=078-7351-01 Thanks very much everyone! - Adam
  2. I'll double check te specs on the Zephyr arm. Does anyone have any tips for trying to balance an overweight rig (ie. center post all the way extended, max out weights on the base, gaff the second battery)? Thanks very much!
  3. Hey guys and gals, I've got a shoot planned this Monday and I'm using the Aaton Penelope on a Steadicam Zephyr arm/vest. With Aaton batteries, a Cooke S4/i lens, Bartech receiver, Heden m28 motor, clip-on Arri LMB-5 matte box, the camera is ringing in at a whopping 30 pounds. My rated limit is 23-24 lbs as I've read. I have read on the forum elsewhere that it would obviously be frowned upon to overload your rig as it prevents you from properly operating it as your hand would have to support some of that extra weight. However, I haven't read anywhere regarding just how far an arm/gimbal can be overloaded before serious damage would occur? Does anyone have any experience with this, to at least make me feel somewhat comfortable with this extra 6 pounds? Any advice? Thanks!
  4. I've seen several different methods of mounting a Heden M26T out there and I was just curious if anyone had any experience with any particular method (lens clamping, rod offset, etc.) and if there's any I should steer clear of. Thanks very much!
  5. Hey everyone, I'm in need of a Vehicle Mount (Walter Klassen, Jerry Hill, Tiffen, etc.) to be rented for a shoot on March 31st, 2012. The shoot will take place in the Hudson River Valley area, but would be picked up in NYC, if possible. We'd only need it for that one day, but would need to return it the following day, April 1, 2012, as the shoot will extend into the night. We'll be using the Zephyr and the production will be insured. If anyone has any other equipment for vehicle mounting and Steadicam use, I'd be completely open to the suggestions. Otherwise, please PM me with your rental rates and contact information. I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks very much all! Have a great day!
  6. Hey Mark, Thanks a million for that G-Zoom mention. Foolishly, I'd been taking on smaller jobs, renting out a full wireless follow focus, and paying an assistant to pull focus for me. All the while, I was waiting on a solution from Redrock with their MicroRemote. I'm finally glad to have found something similar in function and for a completely reasonable price. What is your experience with the G-Zoom? How comfortable is it to operate while pulling your own focus with that thumb-rocker? Any tips or tricks for that method of working? Again, thanks very much!
  7. I'm sorry, and this may be a trivial question, but does this version also support setting Manual hard stops on infinite rotation SLR lenses? I just don't remember reading about it or hearing you mention it in the video and wanted clarification. Thanks very much!
  8. Hey, thanks so much guys! Yeah, I had been adjusting by sliding the whole system back and forth which definitely worked. Having used the Flyer in the workshop, I thought my Zephyr was likely and regrettably missing some components. But, it's great to hear that everything's intact. So, thank you both very much for your help and advice! - Adam
  9. Hi everyone. I recently purchased and received my Zephyr after taking one of Peter's workshops. I rigged up a camera for a job and began to balance with my fore/aft adjustment knobs and my plate won't move. Obviously my center post adjusts side to side but I thought I remember the fore adjustments actually connecting onto a ridge piece underneath the plate which is responsible for making those subtle adjustments front and back. I don't have any access to another Zephyr to compare, but there are no such ridges underneath my plate. Can someone please clarify if I'm missing a part or just cluelessly overlooking some other element to this matter. Any help is appreciated. Thank you very much!
