  1. Back when me and Willy D were in 'Nam, we were deep on patrol in enemy territory when my M-One started chattering like crazy, threatening to give away our position. Demerritt tried to silence the motor like Alan Alda did to that chicken on M*A*S*H, but it was too late. Lost a couple of good focus-pullers that day...
  2. Well dang Will, you're welcome, sir! I see that you posted that a while ago, but I'm just stumbling upon it now. Since the above is the nicest thing anybody has ever said/written about me, I'm forwarding it to both my mother and my wife so that when I forget a birthday/anniversary/mother's day they will remember that I am a nice, caring, and thoughtful person. And yes, modularity is nice too. Glad to help.
  3. FWIW, my Harrison sled standby cover is extremely well made and beats the pants off the space blanket and grip-clip option.
  4. I think we can all agree that those are some super excellent thumbnails right there.
  5. Rich, If you think I can squeeze one of the new PRO sleds with an LCD on it into the bag, I'll happily take it off your hands sir. Dave
  6. Iain, you beat me to it! Ozzie was just trying to help the dude out.
  7. Lawrence- I took a gander at the MDR3 yesterday at their booth at Cinegear. There are bracket mounting holes, just on one side though, so the lettering is gonna be 'upside-down' when mounted to your sled.
  8. Somebody out there is buying the new MDR...
  9. To totally piggyback off of James's question: is the HU2 compatible with an MDR 1 that has been outfitted with a board recently emoved from an MDR2 that has just undergone the upgrade? Will the discarded MDR2 board even fit into the MDR1?
  10. Since I was the rascal who sold Joe the gimbal with the pan-bearing requiring all sorts of devilish attention, I'm happy to throw in a free 1.5" wrap grip to the lucky buyer. Shipping on me to anywhere in the world. Dave
  11. Stewart, What a set-up! Best of luck with your sale sir, a very great deal for someone. If you ever consider selling the single channel handset separately, I'd be happy to take it off your hands. Dave
  12. New Price for Gold Vest: $800. I will happily pay for domestic shipping. I owe Jack a few $$ and I'm afraid if I don't get him his money soon he'll send Tommy and Chad after me and I'll end up in a shallow grave in Pacoima, never to engage in mediocre steadicammin' again.
  13. 3a Gimbal is SOLD. Gold vest still available. $1000 OBO.
  14. Hey Joe, Sent you an email brotha. My PM function isn't, uh, "functioning"... Glad to ship to NZ, sir. Dave
  15. Dearests, I have for sale: 1. Glidecam Gold Series Vest. Upgraded to the PRO vest a year ago. From the Glidecam website: http://www.glidecam....t-gold-vest.php Vest purchased new from Adorama for $2,100 5 years ago. I've had some very, very heavy loads on it. It can handle anything your body can. There are some light, cosmetic scratches here and there from resting the rig on my shoulder over the years, and a little bit of rust/corrosion of the 'ski boot' ratchet-closure system, but the socket block (titanium, probably worth $4-500) and pads/cordura are in excellent shape. Brand new waist band replaced by Tom at Glidecam this year. Hasn't even been used since it was replaced. A decent, functional vest for $2k new, and a great starter vest for $1,000. PRICE: $1,000. 2. Cinema Products 3a gimbal In decent shape. Been living on a PRO post for 5 years doing it's job. Solid gimbal. No issues. The same gimbal somebody used on your favorite steadicam shot. PRICE: $1200 It's late and I'm watching "The Police Women of Dallas" on the Oprah Network and my stuff is in the room with my sleeping wife and if I go in there at 130 in the morning to grab steadicam stuff to photograph she'll probably divorce me. Therefore, pictures to follow on the 'morrow. Dave
  16. I braved the 'elements' and the 405 on Thursday and drove on down to Irvine to pick one of these things up in person from Mike G. at Teradek. Very nice and straight-forward guy. As a matter of fact, everyone I've dealt with at Teradek has been very nice and helpful over the last couple of months as I tried to stay on top of the product's release. My initial customer experience is very positive. Well, I hope the thing works. That would be frikkin' sweet. No more village griping about the Modulus feed and no more tethering myself all up to be damned when "hey, we'll just set the sled down, plug in the BNC and watch playback" just isn't good enough for the 20 year-old director. I get it. Once they've had the taste of glorious, real-time HD during the shot, anything else just isn't going to do for a lot of DPs/Directors/Clients/etc. out there. These Bolts are out there now and we'll all know what's what soon enough. Please work, Teradek Bolt. Pleeeeeeeeaaase...
  17. I know it's a long shot, but I promise to give it a proper home and drop it into a VZ chassis one day.
