  1. Hey Folks, As the above reply to Pedro (I mistakenly thought I was responding to a PM...) indicates, all the gear listed has sold except for Modulus 3000. And now that I've taken a closer look at it, I have downgraded its cosmetic rating to a 1.8/10. As mentioned earlier, sometimes it works fine and other times I want to throw it against the wall. Ships with articulating (?) BNC antenna, lemo to hirose power/vid cable and voltage regulator. First $200 takes it. Dave
  2. Hey Pedro, Everything has sold except for the fairly crappy modulus. I'm in LA, sir. Dave
  3. Hi Guys, Both monitors -- SOLD. CATV Channel 59 Tx-- SOLD Right Angle Motor -- SALE PENDING. Modulus, Sharkfin, Tuner-- Still for sale. Thanks, Dave
  4. Hey Everybody, Here's some stuff that needs to go. 1. Transvideo 3a Superbright Monitor. Purchased 4/11 from another op on the forum and has been my daily monitor ever since. Screen has a few light dings but is hardly noticeable when monitor is fired up. Cosmetically: 6/10 Screen: 6/10 Functionality: 10/10. All functions perform perfectly. Serviced by Noel at Transvideo LA in July 2012. Price $750 2. Marell HBM with built-in adjustable framelines and crosshairs. Comes with PRO spud attached. Decent daylight viewable monitor that would be perfect as a backup or something heavier for those heavier days. Purchased from another op on the forum 10/07 and was my daily monitor until I replaced with the above listed Transvideo. A few dings on the housing but screen is flawless. Ships with PRO monitor cable. Cosmetically: 5/10 Screen: 10/10 Functionality: 9/10 (a few horizontal lines over the image if framelines are put to a specific size. This can be avoided by adjusting the size a teensy-weensy bit this way or thatta way. Price (including PRO cable) $750 3. Stanton Right Angle Motor with BFD power cable and various pitch sized focus wheels in excellent condition. Purchased new from Stanton for $650. Price $350 4. Modulus 3000, lemo powered Modulus voltage regulator, Sony TU-1041U Rx and CIT Sharkfin Antenna. Receiver and sharkfin antenna are both in very good shape and perform as they should. Modulus sometimes works great (by that I mean it sends a clear, strong picture sometimes, it ALWAYS powers on) and other times the signal is pretty bad. Tuner and Sharkfin are in very god cosmetic and working order. Modulus is a 3/10 cosmetically. Price $500 for Modulus, PRO to Modulus cable, tuner and antenna. 5. Channel CATV 59 Tx with PRO to Modulus power cable. Purchased from David Hable at Cramped Attic. Price $150. Thanks everyone. Dave
  5. I'm working on a demo reel that only has guns in it.
  6. Erwin!! Welcome back brotha! Good to see your name on the forum. Hope all is well back home man. We miss you. Dave
  7. Grayson, I'm sure others will expand but definitely some very cool stuff to see this year: -Over at Tiffen there was Chris's Exovest. Still a prototype but interesting nonetheless. I tried one on at the Stabilizer expo on Sunday. I spent a few minutes in it and all I can say (IMHO) is that I think Chris might be on to something. -Two new gimbals over at PRO offered in descending order in price and features. The first loses the VZs drop-time tuner but keeps the clamp. The second loses tuner and clamp and secures with a kipp. Also, a new sled at PRO with a fixed post and a two battery configuration. -Mr. Bartell has gone Long Beach-style Game of Thrones and is now slaying iris dragons with a two-channel handset. I did NOT see this contraption, but another op mentioned this might be available as an upgrade to existing units (Jim?). Dave
  8. I bet that was quite a show. Did the Frenchmen get arrested? I can't believe I missed it. I showed up @ 1 pm on Friday because I a can't read very gud or follow directions all that well. Better luck next year Ron and keep the burns salved up. May the 'gav work it's healing magic.
  9. "I think Papert had a flyer arm at one point that could hold 27lbs while being rated at 15" That's "Mr." Papert, David. ;)
  10. I'm just seeing this now...funny stuff. The best thing about being a Baldwin in the steadi racket is that sometimes people confuse me with Ron. The only differences between us are he's a helluva lot better than I am, and I'm more of a Monistat 7 guy, while Ron's go-to topical ointment is the venerable chemistry behind the legendary product whose name we all know, love and trust. Baldwin forever and ever and ever...
  11. Orlando- we're permitted for 11 July, so hopefully snow won't be too much of an issue. Ron- excellent point about not schlepping gear around. Rolling with a day pack, GORP, a change of socks, and a water filter sounds about a bajillion times more enjoyable than hauling the big pack up the switchbacks any day! Matt- (loving my Gorelock bruthah) Kilamanjaro sounds amazing man. A-ma-zing...I would totally be down. Summer 2013? Thanks fellas.
  12. The gal in charge of getting our permits was only able to secure a one-day permit in the lottery process. I was really hoping to spread the hike out over two days due to my extreme addiction to lisigav, but I'm determined to get to the summit either way. Anybody banged out this hill in one day?
  13. That dude is a father. Notice all the kiddie paraphernalia in the back yard? Yikes.
  14. Mark, You've definitely got dibs here man. After I posted that I was looking for a PRO vest, I saw that you had posted the same thing a few days before. Hopefully Joe will contact you. Speaking of PRO vests, anybody else out there have one they're not using? Looking to pay in the ballpark of retail. Dave
  15. Mason, Dave here about the vest. I've been having problems with my messenger on the forum and have been unable to click on comments or send them. Weird. Anyway, I'm definitely interested in taking a look at your vest. Where you at? And thanks.

    Dave

  16. Will Demeritt, ladies and gentlemen. Or "Tripp Demo" as the Burbank police blotter refers to him...
  17. Hi everybody, On the prowl for a PRO vest. I suppose I could go up and have Jack fit me for a new one but I am ashamed of my love handles. If any of y'all back-mounted diehards have a PRO hanging out in the garage taking up space and causing domestic problems I would be happy to take it off your hands. Dave
  18. Hi Mark, I too own one of David's Cramped Attic Camos monitors. It's worked flawlessly for over five years. Recently, some knuckle-neck broke off the antennae so on another op's advice I went down to Costco and picked up three of these http://www.vizio.com/accessories/vmb070.html for a quick, low-cost solution. It's the best eighty bucks I've ever spent. It's obviously not very good in daylight, but I picked up one of the 7" Red Hoodmans with the elastic and it fits perfectly. Even looks kind of cool actually. I'm thinking about slapping a layer of anti-glare on it, but so far, no complaints from the "artistic" music video directors I find myself working for these days. Shoot, for $79 bucks you can pick up a few to make up for the fact that there is no removable battery which is definitely a minus. I'll probably get the Camos antennae fixed one of these days, but no hurry for now. Dave
  19. Hey folks, Just wondering if any of you nice people have ever given Ted's shirts to the crew as wrap-gifts/etc. I've emailed Christian about availability and am thinking about stocking up on a couple of DP/AC shirts to have on hand for special co-workers. I haven't seen too many of these shirts around (the ones I've seen tend to be on the ancient side). Any thoughts/comments would be appreciated. Dave
  20. Amando, I had an '88 wrangler for six years back in the nineties and I loved it. Very fun to own and drive. I had a four-cylinder so not much power but I rarely did anything too sketchy anyway. They're fun on rocks and make fantastic convertibles. but if you're using it for work, you'd probably go with a hard-top model. ; ) I think they're considered much better vehicles these last few years than some of the models from the 80's and 90's. Stick a wench on it and you should be able to get yourself out of most jams. As long as there are trees around at least. Have fun with it and definitely get the Russian arm mod. Put it right next to the flame thrower. Dave
  21. Hello dear friends, I'm gonna be heading up to SF all next week for a student shoot and I know we're going to need a vehicle mount for at least one day and I was wondering if anybody up North had a vehicle mount they could part with for a day or two. I can probably get you a $50-$75 daily rental on it. Don't want to borrow a buddy's down here and have it up there all week just for one day of four-wheelin'. Thanks. Dave
  22. Anybody else out there been getting ridiculous spam emails these last couple of days from "James Brown" looking for an op and a need to disclose an "exact location"? It's very similar in tone/style to those Nigerian bank scams.
  23. Afton- first of all, you've got the best logo in the game. Papert's is good. Aiken's is good. But the effin NBA logo is the shiznit. Secondly, Charles has had the misfortune of living in my neighborhood these past few years and has therefore had to deal with some strange questions and needs for a while now. It's like a teen crisis center out here. Thanks Charles. For real bro. Thanks for talking me through my first crane shot and for bringing me a downconverter to Cafe 101 on your day off and for at least ten or twelve other things. Please check in and give us some technical specs at your convenience. Dave

  25. Doc you the man! Finally something that I can have my family buy me for Christmas because they're all too effin cheap to hook a brother up with the stubby Filmtools t-handle screwdriver that I've had my heart set on for three years.
