  1. I saw these at the show. Another Steadicam op I was with bought one. Looks like a good case, the latch was easy enough to operate. Padded divider insides were nice too. Sadly, I have no photos or video, but I can draw a series of photos, and scan them, then make them into a stop motion movie and upload it. Let me finish my latte first...
  2. Ship me a few of the receivers here in Tennessee, and we'll see what the range is.
  3. I hear it started it's own production company in Vancouver. It's working with SciFi channel a lot. That could be a rumor though.
  4. Yep. Nice carts indeed. We spoke with them a few times about the steadicam need. They asked around at the Tiffen booth to get ideas of what we needed, and probably talked to a few of you too. If you have specific needs they should be willing to hear them. I'm sure they can't address them all, but they are keen to make something that works for us. If you can't tell from the photos, everything I saw was top notch work. Quality aluminum (quite think too) and nice wheels. The locking disk brake wheels were quite cool. Not sure how much I would need that, but it's got style for sure. For those of us with small vehicles, the Scout model looks great. packs down to 7in thick. Anyway, glad to see they got some publicity here. If you are an Op in the LA area, visit them and tell them whatca want, whatca really really want. =)

  6. I wear my vest like that when I'm operating underwater.
  7. AHHH! that's my problem! Thanks Sanjay. =)
  8. John Perry I think I saw a photo of that rig on his facebook. I'm pretty sure he's there. But we'll find out soon enough. [waves to John]
  9. I am about to post a 1st Generation Canatrans for sale, with Decimator, T-1041U receiver and sharkfin.
  10. Nobody interested? Any suggestions finding someone in need? I'll make them a good deal.
  11. Still available. I'm open to offers if you're interested.
  12. so... what's the benefit of using my EIN for rental? Is there less tax on rentals? I always give them my EIN, but only because I didn't know better. =) A couple of people have questioned, it, but I didn't know enough to argue it. and didn't know if I SHOULD argue it.
  13. Thanks guys for the help. I think I might go with cabling for both options. When I need more weight below the gimbal I can mount the Decimator and Canatrans on the back of the monitor, and with lightweight jobs up high on the camera. Maybe overkill, but will be ok for now. Good point Brooks about the VTR op. I'll remember that for sure. The XCS transmitter bracket sounds handy. I'm guessing it's just for XCS sleds?
  14. I have a few cables for sale. LC-132 | 4 pin Fischer Arri IVS, 12V for $115 LC-109 | Aaton XTR, 6 pin Lemo for $115 LC-103 | Arri 3 pin Fischer R/S 24V for $115 Free shipping within the USA. contact me for International shipping quote
  15. I have an archer2. I have a canatrans. I've read some about interference with the camera when it's mounted on the camera. So I mounted it behind my monitor, (standard SD monitor from the Archer2) ran video OUT of the monitor, to the Canatrans. Powered through the Dtap on the battery. (I would eventually power it through the 3pin Lemo on the sled...this is just the testing phase, so I know what cables to buy) That seemed to work ok. Then I thought about the 4pin Hirose on the topstage. That would be an elegant way of getting power and video. So now I'm just wondering what the rest of you do? (My previous 1st gen canatrans was just simple 4pin XLR and BNC, so options were simple, and I mounted it on my battery of my EFP)
  16. Ditto, Except I bought mine from Kevin, then from Janice.
  17. I think he's talking about air travel.
  18. I don't think so. I think it's just the HC. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong. I mean, WHEN. =)
  19. Yep, and Hugo has them too. Also, any of the G series arms can be make to work with an EFP. The G50 works very well with it.
  20. Welcome Joakim Just three quick thoughts. - Take a workshop. If you are really considering being an Op, the workshop is a no brainer. You'll learn TONS there that would take years of trial and error. - You can replace ALL aspects of the rig when you are older and have more money, not just the arm and vest. - How much money do you want to spend, and what will you be flying? After reading through all of the other posts like this on the forum, do you have specific questions about the difference between the two sleds? - Depending on the arm, the Zephyr can lift 20-25 lbs, and the EFP 30-40lbs - The Zephyr is harder to spell and uses more letters than the EFP *grin* Bryan
  21. I wonder if I can get some work on my house done like this. Maybe refinishing all of our floors, or new countertops for free. So they can get experience and something for their website.
  22. No secrets with Alfeo around! kidding (I couldn't come up with anything funnier to say) The only vest I have left is the EFP one that i'm selling with my rig, which I'm waiting on payment before declaring sold. Good luck though.
