  1. thank you robin :) you know me from dubai we met here :)
  2. i can see that this topic speaks about flexible rigs like ultra 1 and 2 where you can change the place of your rigs elements .. my rig is the master elite, am not using the CRT monitor anymore .. and am using the ( CineMonitor HD Classic ) . and am using a PAG batteries (old big ones ) .... finding this rig so hard to DB .. but i know if am using a bit lighter monitor it would be better .. last time i was flying the rig with ARRI ALEXA ... it was close to DB .. am a newbie , the questions is : _do i always have to put my rig to a perfect BD or being close is good ? _i was doing a running shot with a slow drop time lik 3.5 sec ... i was loosing headroom but i maintained a good horizon ... is it good idea making a the drop time faster (as there isn't much panning involved in the shot , just a don juan running shot ) ?! _adjusting fore and after to trim for a headroom will put the rig out of DB .. right ? as my rig is without a motorized stage .. monty
  3. fast drop time when circling is better ? wouldn't this effect the horizontal level ?

  7. I know nothing about the masters series arm, but Hugo designed his spring ends to be user serviceable and easily dismantled for field fixes...not so with the cp/tiffen arms so be careful! thanks for your advice Ron .. i was comparing the two models .. the only deference between the shape of the two springs is just the spring ends .. the silver spring is designed in a way that the cables doesn't get twisted .. but they are both replaceable without the need for complected procedures .. thats is just an eye judgment .. am waiting for more info's and tips from you guys cheers
  8. thank you so so much Thomas , that's what i was talking about .. its the same concept from what i saw ...
  9. thx for your reply Thomas :) i know that the best choice for me is to service it in tiffen or send it to someone like luna but currently i don't have them money for this ,, and i have to fly it .. am still training and i have to train myself everyday .. but today i took a look after i unscrewed the aluminum cover and it seemed that i can assemble all the three springs .. with an alen key .. i know its not easy and am trying to reduce the importance of the service or the ppl who is doing it , but i think i can fix it .. but in all the form i couldn't find a reference or a catalog for the parts names in the arm .. i just need some tips about the assembly , from what i saw in the arm i looks like you can assemble the springs with no tools and what left and its the most important part is controlling the tension of the springs by tightening or loosing the screw located inside the last spring . am i right with that ? 10. Hey guys , am a newbie and i just got my first steadicam ultra cine , i bought it with its arm witch has a broken spring ( upper part ) i called tiffen agent in dubai so i can service it but they asked for a 3000 USD , i called tiffen instead and asked them for all of the upper part springs and they asked for 800 USD , so am planing to changing it by myself or with some assistant from my friend and he is the best grip in dubai , so any ideas or suggestions ? if you don't recommend this , why .. what kind of problem am going to face ? i would love to send it for a proper service like tiffen or robert luna but seriously guys i just cant afford to pay 3000$ now ..so any advice's will be great :) thx in advanced for all replays montey
