  1. I'd love to see that too, Peter. About 60% of our business is high end weddings and events. That should be a trip! VHS
  2. I have to attest to the feeling of community with people you've never met. Peter Abraham and Alan Mehlbrech helped me very recently. Geat guys!
  3. Yeah - what he said. No I don't know what the total weight of the cam was, but I was bottoming out for sure. (War's "Low Rider" was playing in my head.)
  4. I found that really interesting to watch. Thanks!
  5. Look for Cassandra Wilson on Comcast's Video On Demand. I'm not sure when it will air. They did a live switch to tape but I understand they iso'd each camera to tape and will be doing post.
  6. My first big triax truck shoot went off without a hitch thanks to Alan Mehlbrech and Peter Abraham. I was hired to be part of a 6-camera shoot: Cassandra Wilson at World Cafe Live in Philadelphia. They had me fly an Ike 388P with a wide angle lens. It was a bit on the heavy side for my Flyer but I got it going. The directors loved the work and asked for my card so I guess that's a good sign. Thanks guys for the advice and the accessories!!! You rock! Dave Williams
  7. Mike, The Z1U flys very nicely on the Flyer. I am a Glidecam veteran, recently purchasing my Steadicam rig 8 weeks ago. I have used it on a half dozen jobs since then and I simply LOVE it.
  8. I figured out a solution. I gaffer taped two camera batteries back to back which added the rear end weight I needed and gives me the benefit of another charged battery right on the camera:
  9. Thanks - I was trying to avoid adding dead weight but it is a solution. I have plenty of room for more weight on the arm.
  10. I am flying the Sony Z1U on my Flyer. The camera with a Centuy Optics wide angle adapter goes on just fine, as long as I mount to the holes all the way at the back of the plate. But now I'm out of room to move back to compensate for anything else I'd want to hand on the front of the camera (Frezzi light, matte box, etc.) Tiffen does not make a longer plate for this sled. is there another solution? Thanks in advance!
  11. Hey Imran! Good to here from you, my friend! As soon as I get the rest of the footage from the workshop, I'll cut a DVD for everyone. We have to get together again one day. What an inspiration that workshop was! Local Dave
  12. You bet Michael. Just bought my first Steadicam rig - a Flyer. I got to fly a lot of stuff at the workshop and with the help of all the really cool people I met, I determined that the Flyer is going to be perfect for the kind of work I am doing now. The industrial/corporate/music side of my business is really taking off - faster than the Wedding and event side did. The new site will launch later this week with a reel focusing on this month's feature project - luxury real estate tours.
  13. I attended the first day of workshop today. Very nice to meet all of you guys and I am looking forward to a very challenging and rewarding week. This is also my first time posting on the board. Dave
